COLIN: What do I need to do to prove it to you. DANA: Just give it time. Your actions will speak louder than your words. COLIN: I will do my best to do whatever, you are looking for to prove I am being serious DANA: I guess we will wait and see. Musical Selection: Queen “You’re My Best Friend” This song has qualities that show why people are best friends.
1. After viewing the documentary and listening to each song by Rodgers and Hammerstein the song that made the most impact on me was the song “Some Enchanted Evening.” The song consists of very smooth and romantic melodies. Due to that I am a hopeless romantic I really enjoy the song lyrics and melody. The song was very catchy that I ended up singing the song for the rest of my day. One of my favorite lyrics of the song was.
I’m a country music lover for three reasons. The first reason, is because I can listen to a song and can tell you what the song is called. I can do that because i’ve listened to country music so much that now I can just basically name the song and the artist. The second reason, would be because most of the music on my phone is all country. On my phone scene I have so many song that I actually have a whole playlist with country music on it.
Stories of love are some of the most popular stories in existence. Mainly because they are easy to relate to whether they are a story of a new love or of love lost. Most everyone has experienced this and people like to listen to songs of similar experiences. A few examples of love ballads back in the middle ages were “Hind Horn” and “Thomas the Rhymer”. This is another popular form of ballad because being on hard times or being poor is also a relatable thing for many people.
In the reading passage, it was explained that motivation is divided into two kinds, which is extrinsic and intrinsic. Extrinsic motivation affect from the outside of the individual such as money and intangible rewards. On the other hand, intrinsic motivation effect from the inner of the individual. The story about Marnie showed us that when she was child, she enjoy singing so much that she can sing everywhere and the people around her are so happy to hear her singing. It means that when Marnie was so enjoyed singing, she got "Intrinsic" motivation, which she always feel happy when she was singing and singing was her desire for satisfaction.
Final Draft We all have stories and memories tied to songs that have become a part of who are. Remember the violins playing in the background while watching a sad movie or the song that helped you through difficult times or the song you and your friends sang while attending a concert? Whether it’s on the television, the radio, in a movie, in the car, or at a sporting event, music is everywhere. Feeling the rhythm of music brings us so much joy and excitement but playing musical instrument is even more fulfilling because it has many benefits. Everything I do revolves around my music.
I will take part by being one of the audience members, acting like Chris’s best friend, shouting at Chris not to fall for Rose’s tricks. This song and movie are perfect for this piece because people have to start paying attention to their surroundings just like Chris should have in the movie. Now, for my scene, I will be reciting the song “The Wind” by Mariah Carey. After I recited the song in style of a poem during class, I felt like this piece would fit right in with the rest of the pieces my peers are creating. For my scene, I plan to have smooth jazz like music playing in the background while I softly say the lyrics to “The Wind”.
The ease with which the Sopranos sang, greatly contributed to this contrast as well, and established the idea that even in the darkest moments of a person’s life, beauty can be found, if they chose to discover it. This particular piece also contained seamless transitions between parts of both the song and of the choir, along with the use of voiced consonants and the beautiful choice of vowels. Next, The University of Utah Chamber Choir sang, “Curse Upon Iron” by Veljo Tormis. The quick tempo often made this song difficult to understand because of how muddled words would become. However, when the tempo decreased, the choir had nice open vowels and voiced consonants such as a “k” on the word “cursed”.
“I Will Always Love You”, as Sang By Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston “If I should stay, I would only be in your way…” Anyone today could probably finish the rest of this song after hearing these lyrics. “I Will Always Love You” is one of the most iconic songs of the 21 Century. This song is widely covered by professional artists and cover singers up to today. When two identical lyrics are sung by two different singers, these are not identical lyrics anymore. In the case of “I Will Always Love You”, these two versions carry somewhat similar, yet entirely different feelings and emotions.
I’d like to take it a step further, however, and say that the opening song in The Sound of Music does a fantastic job of matching the imagery and communicates the drama in a clear manner. The beginning lyrics are as follows: “The hills are alive with the sound of music…with songs they have sung for a thousand years. The hills fill my heart with the sound of music…my heart wants to sing every song it hears.” What beautiful words! As Julie Andrews uses her sweet voice to bring words written on paper to life, she sings, “the hills are alive with the sound of music”, and the imagery indeed shows that they have sung for a thousand years. The music sung is effective in its support of her actions as she then takes a breath, puts her hand near her heart, and beautifully sings once more, “the hills fill my heart with the sound of music; my heart wants to sing every song it hears.” You can tell by the end of the piece that she means every word she
-“I found god in myself & I loved her/ I loved her fiercely”(63) This quote is so strong because it means so much because people would think she found like God but she was symbolizing how she found herself, and she loved her. I find it even stronger because the lady in red was always looking for love in all the wrong places, but she had to learn to love herself before she could allow herself to love someone else. 2.
Bear stated in American Cowboy about life after football. “It kind of depends on where Katie is with her singing career. She’s been a big supporter of mine and been there for me in every situation, so I will be there for her when the time comes. Eventually, I’d like to get back to California and ranching. I’d love to give rodeo a try, steer wrestling, and team roping.
