Personal Reflection
Introduction
Below is the review of my picture book titled “Follow The Footprints With Johny”. This book is written and illustrated by me and Alifeyah. It is classified under the genre of animal fantasy whereby the animals in this picture book can talk and engage in activities similar to a human. It is suitable for children between the age of 8 to 10.

This story is about a young male beaver, named Johny who loves to play his tablet to the extent that he is addicted to it. He plays the tablet everywhere neglecting social interaction with his parents and the environment around him. One day, he sees dotted lines in his bedroom wall and a red crayon lying on the ground. He uses the red crayon and joins the dotted

Unlike children in the past, plays with toys such as rubrics and toy cars, children nowadays begin to play with their parent tablets from the time they can grasp an object in their hands. However, this brings negative effects upon children as they lack social interaction with the people and environment around them which causes them to feel sad and lonely. Children use the tablet to play games, surf the internet which is a one-way interaction with their tablet. Most parents are very concerned about this issue. Therefore, this picture book is created to encourage children to establish social interaction with people and engage in outdoor activities more often.

In the front cover of the book, I chose to use big bold orange letters for the title. The colour orange radiates warmth and happiness. It relates to adventure and social communication stimulating two-way conversations. Orange, a warm and inviting colour is both physically and mentally stimulating, so it gets children excited to read the story.
The story was initially told using past-tense narration. However, after reading to the children, I found that they were not actively engaged in the story. Therefore, I modified the text to present-tense narration. This enables the children to believe that story events written are happening at the very moment

Simple sentence is used in the text. For example, “He plucks a flower and smells it.” After reading to the children I found that the simple sentence structure of the text allows them to read at ease thus developing their proficiency skills in reading English language.
In addition, the vocabulary used makes the text more appealing to young readers. The words used are more colourful than those usually used to describe a natural phenomenon. For example, Instead of using “water”, words like “Splish, Splash, Sploosh”was used when Johny is playing in the rain with his friends. This enables inexperienced or young children to have fun in reading as it is short and catchy.
Other than that, the text is placed at various places in every page. Sometimes the text is placed at the bottom of the page at the green grass, whereas sometimes the text is at the blue sky. This engages children in a fun and exciting reading process whereby after they read a sentence, they will look for the next
These stories provided direction for the children to guide them in the future. These stories provided significance and a very important feeling of hope. Also, the stories supplied good life lessons and faith that they could hold with them their whole life and potentially teach to their own
With the story being told in first person by the child, events are described through the lens of
Before Alexie knows the vocabulary to say a paragraph, he understood what is mine. Also, he saw every member of his family like a paragraph, they complete each other. Alexie helped himself to can read in early age when the other boys struggling through reading simple
What we need to do is lessen the use of technology and read a book. We should lessen the use of technology to become less dependent on it as a society because it hinders parenting and socializing.
The children could not imagine spending a few short hours without their nursery, showing the dependency the children have formed to this device. A reality without the technology seems so difficult the kids go on to say, “it would be horrid” (165) and “That sounds dreadful”(163). Though the children and parents are both reliant on technology the parents have the maturity and rationality to know they can live without it. Similarly, overuse of modern technology can be dangerous for children as they can form a quick dependency on that
In the book, the author’s style would be described as being descriptive. Throughout the book, Sinclair gives details on the characters’ surroundings, thoughts, and feelings to allow the reader to understand their situation and sympathize with them. Additionally, it reinforces the story’s overall depressing tone. By utilizing this type of style, the author is able to get the readers to agree with the message he is trying to
This article is very good for parents who their children always spend time on their devices with friends. If your child is using devices too much, it’s not wrong. You can show them if they are using to much, they might be separate from their loves, you. You don’t want to talk with your kids via Facebook and any other social medias, do you? I know children these days not going to listen, but at least you being a good parents who try keep their children out from the technologies
The rabbits have their own myths, legends, and language, and their interactions with one another are frequently shockingly human-like. Despite its fantastical elements, the book is grounded in truth. The risks and challenges the rabbits encounter are all too real, and their battle for survival is a microcosm of the challenges faced by all creatures in the wild. At the same time, the novel celebrates the resilience and adaptability of nature and the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
This made Seuss begin his endevor of creating children's books. Ann Neely states, “ Children in stages of early literacy need to develop strong foundations on phonological awareness… I think the rhyming can be used in a variety of ways in this regard.” The colorful pictures and simple words help children learn to read still to this

Communication and language • How children listen and pay attention Specific areas Literacy • How children start to enjoy reading book.
Finally, the author uses similes in the story when they say “and suddenly his voice flowed like a river breaking loose.” This is used to show that he was preparing himself to tell an important event, story and then he let loose and went on and on about this one event. Using figurative language in stories helps the reader to better visualize the characters and to feel the tone when
it wasn 't overwhelmed with words, but put a big message across the mostly blank pages. Shel silverstein wrote in such a way that really enticed the theme itself. The
Over the years there has been a big controversy over whether video games are relatively good or extremely bad for children. Video games are super beneficial to a kid’s learning process and have been proven to increase social skills, productivity, and stress. The fear that video games are harmful to a child, is proven through countless experiments that they are actually great for their growth and brain capacity. Video games can increase the social skills in a child, Xbox and PlayStation provide great opportunities for cooperation and competition. Two different studies, one by Katherine Keyes and the other by Vinay Devnath, both have proved that the use of video games can increase the social skills that many children can’t grasp, “Video game playing is often a collaborative leisure time activity for school-aged children, and these results indicate that children who frequently play video games may be socially cohesive with peers and integrated into the school”( Keyes, PhD).
What really matters is that children have free access to books in class so they can have moments where they can read to each other or moments where they can read alone. Also, having time to represent stories through drama, dressing up as the characters of the stories, is a great activity to encourage children to read. As is told in the article, Rodari’s techniques are very useful for this kind of activities.
The current study is the effects of exposure to technology on young children. As we become increasingly more reliant and absorbed in technology, it is no surprise that today’s children have become avid users as well (Hatch, 2011). Children at the age of three or four already have tablets, smart phones, and others; they could easily attain technologies and would even demand for one. As it makes easier for us, technology has both positive and negative impacts especially on young children. It comes with great opportunities but these opportunities likewise come with great risk
