My purpose for seeking a Masters Degree in Corporate & Organizational Communication is to expand my knowledge as it pertains to the Communication field. I particularly want to fine-tune my people skills, improve my public speaking skills and acquire research expertise to be able to roll out new products to the relevant markets. My view of a great communicator is one who offers effective exchange of communication. I have a particular interest in the improvement of communication systems in organizations that lack proper structures and systems of governance. This poor leadership within these organizations, due to lack of emotional intelligence, has affected their ability to prepare and implement well-calculated communication strategies contributing to poor performance within this industry. Over the past three years after completing my university course work, I have been working full-time at Redline PR, a division of The Advertising Company, as a Senior PR Account Executive. I have also facilitated a mentorship program for senior female students of Rusinga High School that empowered these young girls from issues faced in their everyday lives e.g. relationships, dealing with loss, adulthood among many other pressing societal issues. I believe that this blend of experiences has made me a candidate with a unique
I was born in Guadalajara Jalisco and raised on a small ranch called Atemajac de Brizuela. My dad left when I was small kid, but came back when I was three years old. One year later my sister was born. Once my sister was born my dad decided to come to the United States because he knew that he had better opportunities here than in Mexico. Four years after that I came to the U.S.A at the age of nine not knowing a single word of English.
My interest in a counseling related profession and helping others spawned as a result of a lifetime of learning and curiosity; namely, mindfully molding my thoughts, actions, and habits into a perpetual pattern of unconscious and unpremeditated altruistic behavior. Furthermore, I have always aspired to determine the roots of all my emotions and master the behaviors of a trustworthy, loyal, courteous, and kind individual. Every day should begin with the thought, “What can I, as an individual or collaboratively with others, accomplish to relieve part of the shared and total human suffering of this world?” If such a mantra was revered by the collective consciousness of the human race, misery and suffering would be sharply reduced, if not eliminated
What interests you about your selected program of study? Computer science has always been the aspect of study that has grabbed my attention from a young age. CS always created a sense of awe in me because of the fact that individual people, with a firm understanding of CS, could completely manipulate technology into whatever creation they wanted. In the same way an artist can paint on a canvas, computer scientist can create through code and each program carries a sense of the programmer with it. The more you learn about CS the more uses it gains, making it a tool that builds upon itself.
At the age of ten being raised by minority parents was very difficult for me at the time. At the age of ten I was forced for my English and Spanish vocabulary to be very proficient due to always translating for my parents. At that age learning both languages was annoying, frustrating, and difficult; however that experience shaped me to be a proficient bilingual nurse present and gain benefits by being bilingual. The benefits where the many open job opportunities with the increase pay. This experience also assisted to raise my daughter to speak and write both languages actively although just not the way my parents forced it on me.
I strive to be a leader in and out of the classroom. In general, I try to encourage others and provide my help when needed, every day at school. Whether it is helping a friend out in math at lunch or being a leader by example through doing my homework or volunteering in class, I try to lead each day. As well as in the classroom, I strive to be a leader when I play sports. As a three sport varsity athlete, I spend lots of my time on the court and on the field working to better my game and myself.
Leadership is the ability to inspire and guide others toward a shared vision or goal. It is about creating a culture of excellence where people will be motivated to achieve their full potential, and where the collective efforts of the team result in greater success than any individual could achieve alone. Leadership involves setting a positive example, providing guidance, and building relationships based on mutual trust and respect. During my career in the Navy, I have had the privilege of working with some exceptional leaders who have greatly influenced my leadership style.
A. The Student Teacher As A Growing Professional Areas of Strength (with evidence): In terms of my growth as a growing professional, I have a stronger sense of a "clear commitment to uphold the principles that should govern a democratic and pluralistic community" (Goal 3). I have worked hard to maintain a "authentic, transparent, and honest, " (Goal 4) professional persona. I have tried to respect all members of the education community, and their opinions and ideas.
Giving a child the foundational knowledge and the skills that they will use for the rest of their lives is an amazing gift. I know that education is one of the most important things we can impart to the younger generation. From a very young age I have been interested in a career based around children and in education. I have 2 younger brothers aged 10 and 4. Knowing you made such a positive contribution to a child's life fascinates me.
Business communication is defined as “the sharing of information between people within an enterprise that is performed for the commercial benefit of the organization.” (“BusinessDictionary.com”, 2015). Effective business communication is the hallmark of any successful organization in today’s fast-paced economy. Information is being disseminated on a national level across different demographic lines, and globally to several different cultures. To address how significant it is to possess effective business communication skills, we will be reviewing Martin Zwilling’s, “How Effective Is Your Business Communication Skill?”

Throughout my experience of working as an account management intern this past summer at Ogilvy Public Relations in the Shanghai office, I had a comprehensive understanding of the public relations field. The account team I was involved with worked with
It’s always the same after every introduction and a little history lesson about the Christianity of India. The all too familiar question “ Since you’re parents are both pastors, will you become a pastor too?” If I can count there may be around 3,000 times people asked whether I would become a pastor since I will be fourth generation women on my mother’s side that go to seminary. It still confuses me every time why everyone thought I would become a pastor like my parents. Indeed, I come from a long lineage of pastors and missionaries from both of my parent’s families, however, I always felt it is a calling that was more sacred and meaningful rather than carrying on the family name.
The summer before my senior year in high school was a turning point in my life because it was the first time I realized I wanted to live in Israel. My whole life my parent had raised me, and my five younger siblings to love and support Israel but I could never actually picture myself here. That summer I went to Israel on a Bnei Akiva summer program and for the first time I could actually picture myself in Israel. I spent the summer living on Kibbutz Migdal Oz, volunteering in the Jerusalem Forest, and taking unique trips to volunteer in different communities around Israel. Volunteering in Israel really made me feel connected to people in this country on a much deeper level.
When I think of my reasons for wanting to become a physician, I am reminded of a quote I came across by Hippocrates, who states, "Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity. " This particular statement speaks to me due to the values that motivated my career in medicine. I chose this profession because of my desire to both heal and support others.” Moreover, I appreciate the intellectual stimulation that accompanies evidence-based medicine.
I am 24 years old, I am getting old and that is a fear for me, especially without higher education. I am grateful for this opportunity, had I had the funds I would have earned a Masters Degree and getting ready to get the masters. I chose to pursue my education at this time in my life because I saw an opportunity, one I have been waiting for in forever and I am ceasing. This will definitely help me to be better developed for my career. Currently, working in the BPO industry I know that doing this degree will definitely help me to get ahead.
