As an immigrant, I came to the United States looking for an opportunity to reach my goal and my dream of becoming a pharmacist. When I finished high school in Alexandria, Egypt with high grades, my parents decided to move to the United States because of the dangerous political situation that was taking place in Egypt. We moved to New York, where I started searching for colleges and asked my friends about good pharmacy school here. I was thankful when I found out that I could get into LIU’s pre-pharmacy program. I’m still working on my language skills and trying to improve, but at the same time I’m doing what I love to do and what I do best, which is studying and understanding the sciences. I decided to study pharmacy because I love studying science. My first experiences of sharing and learning were in my chemistry classes in Egypt. I developed my strong interest in chemistry and tutored for many classmates. Helping them, I was very satisfied because we had …show more content…

Last semester, I spent most of my weekends working at a pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. My job is not easy because I have to deal with demanding and impatient customers and their insurance company all day. I have worked 9 hours shift without a break. Nevertheless, I love my job. I feel accomplished and satisfied knowing that I helped in the process of improving others’ health.
For my career choice, I have chosen pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technician was not my first choice, my first choice was to go into forensic, but then I realized forensic was not really for me. I’ve come to the conclusion that all I really wanted to do is to help people and be in a lab. I have always enjoyed science, so I needed something that would let me do what I love but also allow me to help out my fellow citizens. Being able to go into pharmacy tech at West Virginia Junior College is going to help me and my family out in the long run.
What interests you about your selected program of study? Computer science has always been the aspect of study that has grabbed my attention from a young age. CS always created a sense of awe in me because of the fact that individual people, with a firm understanding of CS, could completely manipulate technology into whatever creation they wanted. In the same way an artist can paint on a canvas, computer scientist can create through code and each program carries a sense of the programmer with it. The more you learn about CS the more uses it gains, making it a tool that builds upon itself.
I am a determined individual who is trustworthy and mature. I am a positive person and count that as another quality I hold, and believe is a necessity in any field of work, especially when interacting with others. These qualities shape who I am, and will help me succeed at my full potential in this course. Not everyone has these qualities and they are a key to success. The Pharmacy Technician program will assist me in getting the knowledge and experience I need to be applied for when I get a job right after, and will also allow me to continue learning what I am passionate about and to someday pursue as a
I started wanting to be pharmacist since it was very good profession in itself with a good salary. One other reason being my parents who were both working in the pharmacy gave me convincing talks about that job. So I decided to give it a try that is how I got into the internship program from my high school for shadowing a pharmacist in a Walgreens. There I learned how to be a pharmacy technician. From that experience I received my first pharmacy technician job at Rxperts Pharmacy.
I got a great impact on healthcare profession during the mission at my church and I chose the pharmacist as my goal. I want serving and healing others. During my first visit of IPPE training, I can see how other pharmacists work hard for others. I can see their smiles when patient is coming and their effort to give better medication to patient. I was so excited that I will be the part of
parallel with doctors to ensure each patient receives the upmost confidentiality and care. I am drawn to the study of pharmacy because of its methodical basis of organic chemistry combined with the complexity of human physiology, derived from a focus on philanthropy. The routine structure of pharmacy while maintaining versatility deeply resonates with my own disposition. Through completing my work experience at Boots community pharmacy, I was required to learn many skills and absorb a high volume of information in a fast-paced environment.
I chose Pharmacy Tech because my life involves around medication and my family. So as I was growing up, I always helped my family which are my number 1 priority. When I was in first grade at the age of six years old, I tend to get sick a lot of times. So when I did get sick my aunt will go buy me some OTC children’s ibuprofen for my fever’s ,
I have taken advantage of a significant educational opportunity by attending a Pharmacy Clerk class at Baldy View ROP this helped me get closer and a better point of view on what the career of a pediatrician or any career in the medical field is all about. The Pharmacy Clerk class that I took helped me learn more about the different medicine there is and what the job of each medicine is as well as for what each medicine is used to treat what. Taking this class helped me alot due to the fact that medicine is one of the things I have to be familiar with in order to pursue my career. The Pharmacy Clerk class helped me to get a better idea of what the medicine world is like. It also helped me get a clear understanding of what the career in the medical field is all about and also if it 's something that I would actually enjoy.
“Why I Want to Obtain a Pharmacy Degree at South Dakota State University” Some may find it odd when I talk about my childhood and being raised in the 2000s because it seems like just yesterday we were there and now I am writing an essay for a college pre-admission program. Until recently people who are my age were grouped into being Millennials, and it wasn’t a good stigma to be under. Growing up we were always told to be the best we could be, and when that wasn’t good enough we were handed a trophy anyway. Despite the debatable methods used to teach us by our elders, one thing we were always told was to follow our passion in life. “Do what makes you happy”.
I enjoyed that a Doctor of Pharmacy degree meant I could specialize in cosmetic chemistry, but I was also able to alter my career choice to a retail pharmacist, or any other path available to me, and still be able to make an impact on people every
I knew I was ready to be in the healthcare industry. I still remember the smiles of pharmacists in the white blouses, standing behind the table, willing to help me when my father was in the hospital. In my heart, they were so compassionate and caring to every single patient. That was the reason why I want to become a pharmacist to be involved in the improvement of others’ health, and to take care of my
and it is my ambition to pursue a career in Pharmacy because it directly affects the lives of people. I am looking forward to the challenges of a career that involves lifelong learning. I have learnt valuable skills in the subjects I have taken which I believe will be beneficial to a career in Pharmacy. I believe myself to be a very mature, hardworking and dedicated individual. It is all about contributing to the society in so many ways. A pharmacy student can contribute as a Pharmacist, Chemist, Pharmacy Administration, Drug Regulatory Officer, Clinical Research Associate and many more. Pharmacy involves both theory and practical knowledge and a complete mixture of these two can lead to an all round development of an individual. I came to realise in my undergraduation that without comprehensive knowledge of the subject, the conceptual skills remain incomplete. Knife and Knowledge are the same thing.
