As a little girl my dad would always ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. The most obvious answer would be a princess that was before I started to like teaching. As of today I would like to become a teacher because I have always had a love for teaching. Not only is being a teacher all about teaching but to help others and motivate them to do better in school and actually enjoy learning. I live in Desert Hot Springs a small town which means climate is either hot or very hot. I have an older sister and a younger brother which means I am the middle child. My parents would be my motivation to do better in life. The one who encouraged me the most to follow my dreams is my dad. My dad would see me stay up late at night doing homework and thought I was very intelligent. I would bring home …show more content…
I took all honors and AP classes, in school I would try my best to get involved for school as well as others. Due to that I made incredible friendships and memories that will last forever. This helped me conquer my dreams by all the people who supported me and knew the struggle of skipping that Quinceñera to stay home and study for that Final. As a Latina I acknowledge my mom and dad for the sacrifices they both have done for my siblings and I. Although, it will be hard to leave the nest, I have never stopped the desire to become a teacher and I will always be Daddy's princess. My Dad was the one to make me understand that all that hard work pays off at the end and that helping others doesn't do no harm to the world but actually makes a difference. It would be an incredible feeling to be accepted for college as I am very determined on what I want. I am very helpful with others the reason I want to become a teacher is because I love the feeling, knowing that I'm helping someone and it is not costing anything at all. My parents have worked hard to give me a better
My father has brought out the respectful, passionate, hard working side of my identity. Through nurturing and discipline my father taught me several things such as my hard work ethic, attention to detail, and what it feels like to be passionate about something. His expectations for me were always to the highest extent. He held me close to perfection on everything I did. This coincided with my faith and identity as a student athlete.
The values and teaching passed on to me from my parents will stay the guiding me for who I am today, and for the rest of my live. Mom and Dad were my
They instilled in my brain that education is the key for success and happiness, which has always made me try my best in all of my educational pursuits. I do this not only to show appreciation for what my parents have done for me, but for my own sake as well. I am fully aware that there are countless people all over the world that would give anything just to be able to be apart of this country. This gives me the motivation to always push myself to achieve the highest education possible and to go above and beyond to make something out of my
Being the first person in my family to attend college has the lit the fire inside of me. This has been a dream of my family and mine. Going to a University has strengthened me to work as hard I can. Although my parents have become successful, they had to struggle
Mine have simply taught me to appreciate the value in education. Since early childhood, they’ve strongly urged me to prioritize school above all else and to learn from their mistakes, not wanting me to struggle as they did. My father has made me realize the importance in pursuing a higher education—it’s the best way to truly be successful and be able to give my family the life they deserve. From my mother I’ve learned the significance of pursuing a career that I will truly enjoy, since it is presumably what I will spend the rest of my life doing. Thanks to my parents, not only have I been university-bound since I was a toddler, but I’ve also genuinely enjoyed learning.
My dad is my hero because he motivated me to stay positive and keep trying. This moment helped me to become more serious about my education and I started to get better grades so I could move on. My goal is to be a dental hygienist because I love spending time with others. I had always a dream to be in the health field since I was in school.
As it stands I will be a first generation student. This accomplishment is meaningful to me because my parents have invested so much in me to get me where I am today. This accomplishment allows me be a positive role model
What interests you about your selected program of study? Computer science has always been the aspect of study that has grabbed my attention from a young age. CS always created a sense of awe in me because of the fact that individual people, with a firm understanding of CS, could completely manipulate technology into whatever creation they wanted. In the same way an artist can paint on a canvas, computer scientist can create through code and each program carries a sense of the programmer with it. The more you learn about CS the more uses it gains, making it a tool that builds upon itself.
As for going to college, I never thought I would be able to do it. They motivated me to get through it and I am very thank full for
I would make my parents even prouder because they never had the opportunity to further their education past high school. As a young child, hearing about my parents' financial struggles tore me to pieces. It made me think of life in a different way. I knew that I could do something about this. I could get good grades, Attend a 4 year university and get my bachelor's degree in Biology.
My parents want me to earn the highest degree and fulfill my career goals. It was hard for my parents to find a job due to a language barrier, and being an immigrant. Later, my dad found a job, but he was paid less due to lack of experience. It was hard for us to manage the household with single man's income with no prior earnings in dollars. This was the challenging time, because we have to start with $0 bank balance in this unfamiliar country.
Similarly, mom and dad raised me in the way my dad was raised. Frankly, it’s hard to explain the impact my family has on future. I don’t think I would be as confident and ambitious as I am today without them. I am forever in debt to them. I know that they are proud of me; they tell me that every day, but I plan to exceed their hopes and dreams for me because Papa taught me that regardless of my environment I am the product of my choices and the pave maker of my
If I were to be selected as a leader of the Cybersharks, I would focus more on unifying the team to where everyone has a position so that they can have some responsibility so that they can be included in the team’s successes. Something that I experienced in the past while first joining robotics was that I felt left out and not useful. I did not have a designated position which made me feel like I wasn’t needed in this organization, so by including everyone, they would be more involved and have more drive and dedication placed into this program. Based off the last season, the main problem for the Cybersharks is that we had a plethora of ideas but were not able to create one functioning design that was reliable.
My dad has always told me “if you work hard, any dream is possible”. That was my motivation throughout the years. Being able to play soccer and keep good grades is very hard but working hard in the world makes everything possible to achieve. As the oldest child and being able to be the first in your generation to attend college has been my mindset but also it has shaped me to be the person I am today. My dad and mom have gave me many things in my life for me to be happy and filled with happiness.
The times I enjoy the most are when I am in my art class surrounded by color pencils, oil pastels, acrylic paint, pencils, and paper. I am proud to call myself not only an art student, but an academic achiever. Out of all the countless awards and certificates I have received, I am proudest of the art awards I’ve gotten. To this day, I enjoy making art pieces and being recognized. I was very young when I came from Mexico to live here in the United States.
