This project consisted of me researching a job and building my networking skills to gain a host to show me what it takes to work in a certain career. To acquire the host I wrote several letters to different places so assure my appointment. One might say this experience was very similar to looking for an actual job because I needed to keep trying different places and not giving up. I found myself job shadowing an auto mechanic, Rod Emory, an auto mechanic/businessman who ran his own company. He is very known for his style of cars he creates and has a very successful company.
Since learning AP Economics in my high school year, I have always desired to further my studies in economics. More specifically, I have wanted to study international relations in economics. Recently, Donald Trump has won the presidential election and his inauguration is expected to bring huge change in the world’s economy and foreign policies. Personal Statement Over a casual dinner-table conversation a few years ago with a chemical engineer, my curiosity about his profession led to quite an engaging discussion between us. I was amazed by the several innovations brought about by the Chemical Engineering fraternity which have changed the lives of so many people across the globe. For example, he told me the dramatic change in the gasoline production levels which came about due to the Houdry Process in 1934. It set me thinking on what a remarkable opportunity I had to channelize my love of chemistry & physics to pursue my higher education in the field of chemical engineering & make a career in this field. Once in college, I found that chemical engineering was much more exciting than I had imagined it to be.
