Throughout my life I have been fascinated by a large variety of things, I’ve always strived to understand even the smallest things to the fullest if it interests me. I analyzed the strategies of thousands of professional basketball games, I watched almost every critically acclaimed movie repeatedly until I get a full grasp of the messages the director is trying to convey. Now I aspire to transition this passion to dentistry. I am eager to contribute my enthusiasm to the dental field. I am extremely motivated to absorb as much information regarding dentistry as I can, and I am determined to understand the hardships and difficulties a beginning dentist must endure in order to become a professional. I want to learn how dentists maintain such a
Dentists will diagnose and treat problems that occur in the mouths, teeth, and gums of the patients they oversee. Some of these treatments include filling cavities, removing decay from teeth, straightening teeth, place sealants, give whitening treatments, write prescriptions, examine x-rays, and administer anesthetics during procedures. They also counsel each individual on how to maintain good oral hygiene and base their diet around their teeth. Some dentists may also make models and take measurements of oral appliances such as dentures and retainers. To become a dentist, you must obtain a Bachelor's degree and then enter a dental school.
There are increasing numbers of careers in the United States. In ranking, one of the best health care job’s in top four career is dental hygienist. The career as dental hygienist intrigued me, when as a child I used to have lots of cavity in my teeth and I had to visit the dental office frequently. Then I did not know about the dental hygienist job but I was very curious about the instruments and tools and always wondered how do they make the tooth ache go away.
Abstract The main goal in becoming a Dental Hygienist is being professional and knowledgeable in every aspect of dental hygiene. In dental hygiene, there are several professional roles one can choose from. Some of these roles include that of being an educator, researcher, entrepreneur, administrator, corporate, clinician, and public health. The scope of dental hygiene has evolved since it first became a profession in the 1900’s (Wilkins, Wyche, & Boyd 2017).
My classmates, faculty, and coworkers know me to be an accountable student and employee. My experience in customer service and administration, paired with my education in dental assisting and dental hygiene allows me to be a cross-trained employee who is willing to jump in and help accomplish any task in the dental office. I understand the fast-paced environment of dentistry and am always willing to lend a helping hand to coworkers to ensure our clients receive the best care while we as teammates feel valued. As a student, I recognize that I am just beginning to learn the ins and outs of this profession and I have learned the value of observing those ahead of me. I take note of feedback from instructors who have experience beyond my knowledge and use their feedback, good or bad, as an opportunity to grow and improve my skills.
When I first came to University of Bridgeport, I first heard about their dental hygiene program from my advisor, who had positive feedback to say about the program. Yet, he told me how competitive it was, because he wanted to make sure this was going to be the right path for me to pursue and that I could handle the pressure. My grades were not the question matter in this case. I set a pretty good standard for myself to follow to keep my place in the deal list, while aiming to advance myself in the presidential list. The most important thing for me was to make up my mind on what I see myself doing in the future, besides the need for nitpicking career jobs that are saved and guaranteed a satisfying salary.
Not every seventeen year old can tell you what they plan on majoring in without changing their mind but not me. I’ve always been interested in teeth. I plan on studying Dental Hygiene at Northern Arizona University because I want to be exposed to more than one learning environment. When I receive my bachelors in Dental Hygiene I want to stay in Flagstaff for a couple years and eventually go back to school in order to become a dentist but I would rather be practicing dental hygiene than go to dental school for a long period of time.
Growing up children have think they know what they want to be when they grow up but as they progress and get older they’re ideal career changes for the most part based on the changes they go threw themselves and experiences. For example I wanted to be an Actress because I would to watch the a lot of movies on the daily basis but then as I got older that changed, my ideal job now is have a good paying job and not have to work excess hours. I Chose Dental assisting because the dentistry field has a lot to offer I have always wanted to work in the health field and unlike medical nursing, Dental Assistants have more control of their schedule also they have a wide variety of options from working in private offices to working in public health departments also offers good hours, pay and
This is an important issue that I had witnessed myself. I use to work at a dental office and when new patients come in to get a procedure done, their insurance would not help pay for it. I would have to call their insurance and find out that their old dentist was charging them for procedures that they did not have. Medicare said they would now cover the procedure since the patient supposedly already had it
My Education goals are why I chose APUS, When I graduated from high school in 2014 I started my ROP Dental Assisting program to become a Certified Dental assistant in the state of California so that I could get my foot in the door in Dentistry to one day become a Dental Hygienist. But now here I am two years later working as a full time dental assistant and I have no passion or desire in pursuing in becoming a Hygienist because its not something I feel I could really be happy with and do for the rest of my life. My real passion has always been with children I have always loved working with children weather it was when I was working at a daycare in high school or when I was a cheerleading coach for young girls between the ages of 4-9, I have
My ambition to study Dental Hygiene and Therapy at University commenced in my teenage years, when I first came to London and visited the dentist. The professional approach coupled with a kind and compassionate nature and all of the different instruments and scientific technology the Dental Hygienist and Therapist used fascinated me. I am currently studying Dental Nursing at Teesside University. This course involves providing correct support to the dentist at the chair side, reassuring and supporting patients, maintaining a gold standard clinical environment, charting, dental anatomy and physiology. Studying this course has enhanced my knowledge of dental terminology and procedures as well as the anatomy of the oral cavity.
SHPEP matters to me because it helps to implement an example of how dental school courses are organized, how I should prepare for it, and how the dental profession works in all its angles. The aspects of dental school???. My first dental internship and shadowing experience really gave me first-hand insight as to the reality of the dental profession. When I first put on the scrub and walked through the door, I would mentally imagined that I actually worked at the clinic and that I was part of a team to help treat oral health risks, to provide fundamental dental knowledge and insight to patients, and to prevent potential health risk to the patient. This experience really gave me the confidence to pursue dentistry because of the positive impact it had on my life and also on my future career goals/choice.

They work with tools, sit and stand long periods per day, and work in one of the dirtiest places on the human body, the mouth (Summary). Dental Assistants practice safety measures, just like any other doctor would, to assure the safety of themselves, along with the safety of their patients and organs that are being worked on from infectious diseases.
Ever since I was young, dentistry had sparked my interest for my career. Dentistry appeals to me chiefly because I had always wanted to be involved in a profession where I can help people. My love towards human biology especially human teeth also contributes to my career choice. Most importantly, I find human teeth interesting, often fascinating. Due to my compassionate nature, I have since long known that I would want to pursue dentistry as my career because I get to form relationships with my patients, work hand in hand with many people on a face to face basis.
