Being born into an era of technological revolution and electronic exponentiation, I was fascinated by electronic appliances and computers right from my childhood. The thought of controlling characters in a video game or the ability to perform complex functions with a single click of a button fascinated me beyond imagination. My father’s job required our family to travel to different areas in India frequently and this gave me an exposure to computers right from my childhood as I had the fortunate chance to learn about computers and be immersed with the growing technology right from my elementary and middle school. This also gave me an opportunity to make new friends, meet new people all across India. I pursued my high school education from a reputed school in India where I had the chance to improve my math and communication skills.
Since my school days, my best quality has been my curiosity. My keen interest in learning new ideas, when combined with my inner desire to reach a degree of excellence in every endeavor, enabled me to acquire significant knowledge in various aspects of nature and technology. My undivided attention towards computer science goes back to the time I was in school. This interest has only grown through the years, as I have learnt more and more about the subject. Consequently, I took part in a discussion group of senior high school teachers who motivated me to opt for computer science as my career.
Being good in science, mathematics and having a natural inclination towards programming since early school days has shaped my future ambitions. With a strong determination and a focused goal to become a software engineer, I pursued the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Information
An insatiable thirst therefore pushed me to take Engineering as a career path after my high school education where I have developed a good understanding of various concepts in electronics. Nevertheless, this is an era of ‘change’ wherein each new day sees a spate of new challenges and technologies, in order to achieve my career goals of integrating theory and practice, keeping up with the cutting edge of technologies and to provide the fruits of my research to the people of the nation, I decided that pursuing Master’s program would be the best way to realize my goals.
And I know for sure the master program of Computer Engineering at University of Texas at Austin (UT) will help me with my goal and direct me through the right academic career path. After I finished high school I immediately applied for engineering college in King Abdulaziz University (KAU) without any hesitation. I knew that Computer Engineering is the right path for me. In KAU I refine my academic skills and my knowledge in that field. During my study I took a course in Microprocessor with Professor Muhammed Shafiq and there was a turning point of my academic life I discovered my strengths in that class I noticed how competitive I become when I work under challenging environment.
I chose biological sciences as my higher secondary school major because it is a fascinating subject. During my senior secondary school, I came across a lot of journals and Ted talks, which along with my passion for computers created a great drive within me to pursue a specialization in the field of computer science. To further my pursuit in the field of computer science, I decided to do my undergraduate major in
I had a passion for technology since my childhood. I still vividly remember the time when I waited for an hour to briefly use a school computer. It was then when I saw the school printer printing out a sheet with my name on it. At that age, I was awed – how did the computer know my name? How did it learn English?
I promptly pulled out my laptop and began researching IUPUI, filling out the application shortly after. At IUPUI, I would like to continue to pursue my passion in computers, working with both computer hardware and software to resolve issues that exist in modern computing. I would also like to find a group of like-minded people and create a computer repair group to help others with their computer issues for free, and educate them in the process. My main goal after graduation is to create a computer repair business that charges as little as possible, as I want to help people with their computer issues, using my knowledge for the betterment of
I always wanted to learn more about computers. I was one of the best students in my computer class. My teachers suggested that I should choose computers for further study and I decided to involve in the field of computer science.
Drawing inspiration from the above quote and the passion I have for Computer Science, I am currently pursuing my Bachelors in Engineering in Computer Science domain from Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women. With strong fundamentals in computer science concepts such as Database Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Information Security, Computer Networks and Compiler Construction, and in programming languages such as C, C++ and JAVA, I have made the most of my passion to be a topper in my C and C++ course during my first year of engineering. My first hand experience with computers was during my schooling when I was taught about the basics of computers and the programming language LOGO. My love for computers started when I started writing tiny codes which would perform a meagre addition or subtraction. The passion I developed during my schooling and the prospects computer science could provide in various fields were the driving force in choosing it as my field of study.
