Personal success There are many things that I picture my life to look in ten years, but there is only one I'm really hoping will be true. I ten years I hope my life will look much like this. Holding down a good job with a nice country house and a happy family. Many people probably wish for the same thing but I wish that without having debt tacked on making my life worse. A good life is happy life and that's what I hope for. My topic of choice is savings and budgets since I can relate to it more than the other topics. I never used to be good about savings when I was younger stay because I didn't have a care in the world or really understand that saving money was important. When I was 17 and I got my first actual job, and I got that first real check I didn't want to spend that money because I saw how much it was. At this age is usually when you’re a junior in high school and thinking about colleges and what you want …show more content…
Most of my time is spent working but if it's going to help me get through college then I will do it. Anything helps I even applied for as many scholarships as possible and filled out that FAFSA to get a grant, which I did and that's great. I have received some scholarships from the college as well that is going to help out a ton. My mom has tried to help with other things such as vehicle problems because she knows that I will struggle my second year of college trying to pay for it, and she is right on that I will struggle especially when I will be 6.5 hours away from home. I was afraid to go to college because I thought I would have to take out a loan and then be paying on it for the rest of my life and I don't want that at all. One goal is to get through college without a loan or owing people any type of money payment, except to the College because I have
I do know that I am for sure going to have to cut out all my coffee purchases, because I easily spend over one hundred dollars on coffee every month, when in reality, I should be saving that money for bigger and better things. With me, when I want something, I buy that thing. Budgeting money is something that I, along with plenty of other High School seniors need to start now if we want to get used to it by the time our freshman year of
I do plan to go to college after I graduate. One thing that colleges expect is for you to come with some spending money so you don’t starve to death or don’t make it to school on time because you ran out of gas. In one month, on average, I get paid $320 at $8.90/hr. In one month I have around $300 in bills if you add up my phone
My primary goal for attending college is to be financially fit and also use the knowledge I’ve gained to help underprivileged youth achieve their goals. I come from a poor background where I have struggled to make ends meet. I didn’t receive any scholarships to attend college after high school so I skipped it. The cost of college is a burden that I couldn’t have taken. I used the motivation of when I took time away from school surrounded by people in situations I never wanted to be in.
Most of my friends who are currently in college have between 5000$-20.000$ in federal and private loans. In many cases, besides for the loans, students have to work and study at the same time, which results in a stressful life for the student. In fact, many students are not able to finish their education because, since they can’t afford it, they have to work over their studies. Out of all the possible reasons to drop out of college, “the No. 1 reason many young adults drop out of college is an inability to juggle school and work” (Johnson). Finishing college is the most decisive forecaster of prosperity in the workforce and the inconsistency in college completion between children of rich and poor families duplicated since the late 1980s (McGlynn 55).
The Douglas Honors Diversity scholarship will help me achieve my educational and professional goals in many ways. This scholarship will help me continue my education and career path that I am passionate about. I am the first in my family to pursue a higher education. I am also the first in my family to deviate from a “set” path for me. I come from a family that lives off of state help, so we are not able to pay for a higher education.
So many successful adults till this day are paying back their college debts. Over the years, some are able to pay back their debts in college and others are not able to and are still struggling, due to having to pay other debts that they may have. In some cases, some people drop out of college just so they will not have to owe so much money, but to drop out for that reason is not good. There are several of ways to stay away from college debt and that is getting scholarships, saving money before going into college, and also attending a community college instead of jumping to a university. College debt is a large amount of money that a college student will have to pay back within a certain amount of years after graduating.
My grandmother, a single parent, worked her whole life to ensure that her five children had food to survive and clothes on their backs. College was never an option or even a passing thought for her. My mother followed suit and inherited the hard life of single parenthood at 16. She has struggled my whole life to give me the chance to pursue the path I choose. She worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for growth and an environment that fostered learning.
If there is a job I can do at the college, I would work and hopefully, they lower the tuition for that class. I believe there should be one student loan rate for everyone that is affordable. Different banks have different rates depending on the college. A broader approach is necessary so all students can afford to go to college. Scholarships are helpful too, and I hope I receive this scholarship which is a way I am trying to minimize my debt.
I have the attitude that I work for the things I get but that’s not always true. I don’t like handouts because I feel like I didn’t deserve it but I actually would need it. Being a college student, I am very grateful and blessed to be able to have the opportunity to go to school under scholarship. I am still learning to not feel bad when someone or a program wants to help me by giving me supplies or necessities that I need.
Some people dream to be a successful and famous public speaker. Others want to be a millionaire or a billionaire. Singers as well as actors wish to be successful in their career and become famous. Teachers may hope to succeed in imparting knowledge to their students. Many students simply would like to pass examinations or have good grades in school.
What does success mean to me? It means accomplishing things in life and reaching your goals. Everyone has a different view of what success actually is. Success also means setting a goal and reaching it in a time frame you set for yourself. For example I believe finishing college and gaining a career in a field you love is being successful because it is a goal that can be achieved.
A sense of accomplishment is invaluable to a person. Not only does a sense of accomplishment build confidence and faith in oneself, but it also allows one to reflect on how wonderful the journey to the accomplishment was, and how every little struggle and triumph was worth it. In the middle of summer, where time seems endless and the stress of the previous school year has been shed by students, I never expected to find out that I scored a five on both of the advanced placement exams I took. Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met. Yet to my surprise, I had the good fortune of accomplishing challenging things in both aspects of my life.
What does success mean to mean to me? It means doing things that will help you in life. I also think success mean to make you a better person. Being successful can be looked upon in many different ways, such as being rich, having nice car, good job, or anything to make someone else jealous of what you have. Being successful to me means you accomplished what your goal or goals were.
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to be successful in life. I have always wanted to be the better version of my parents and achieve many things in life. During my freshman year in High school, I knew I was going to major in business. I come from a household of five, my father, mother, two younger sisters, and myself. I am the first in my family to go to college and with that being said, I have always felt the pressure to be the best role model and example for my younger sisters.
How to Achieve Success The term of success appears frequently in public notice and it spurs extensive interests in public. Everybody wants to achieve success, but the fact is that not everyone can make it even though he or she has tried his or her best. Then it comes to a question - how to make it? Does it depend on opportunity or any other features?
