Many serial killers that I have mentioned above are due to the fact that they have either been victims of some sort of abuse or the relationships they had when they were younger were not so affectionate that in the future later life it has become very difficult for them to form new relationships and to treat others in a certain good way. This is all because they don’t know how to because they have never had that connection with any other human being even there own family members. In conclusion, I think that psychotic killers are a consequence of both their nature and nurture. This is because some things that affect them due to their nature they also have a chance of them being effected by their nurture. For example being born with a certain disease may have a similar chance that you are going to get that disease due to something else such as depression and bipolar disorder. If you are not
Natalia Gallegos K. Hester Pre-Ap English II Jan 30, 2018 TITLE Hiding in the shadows of a normal life, dangerous psychopaths can fool us into believing they’re like everyone else. Serial killers are, in a way, fascinating because of their pychopathic thinking, way of masking their true colors , and impulsions/triggers. Dennis Rader, or as many identified him, the BTK Killer, is one of the United States most ruthless killers. Rader murdered 10 people in Wichita, Kansas from 1974-1991 often leaving clues to play with local authorities.
Countless factors can influence individuals to commit acts of crime such as murder. According to Morton and cook social factors hold the most influence especially when it comes to youthful offenders. Social factors include substance and alcohol abuse, disorganized and abusive families, minority background, poverty and violent communities with lack of support, and poor educational achievements. Many famous serial killers had bad childhoods and showed signs of psychopathic behaviors. Also, the McDonald triad also explains that children who wet their beds, committed acts of arson, and animal abuse was psychopathic and they would be more likely to kill (Simon,2015).
The FBI defines serial killing as "a series of three or more murders, committed as separate events, usually, but not always, by one offender acting alone". The “separate events” part is what makes serial killing different than spree killing and mass killing. Another thing that makes serial killers stand out is that they often demonstrate specific patterns that can be easily identified by police investigators. It was often debated that those patterns are products of either their genetics, or their environment. We now know that both are important to the development of all people, so now people argue which one is more important, especially when it comes to serial killers.
Fresh Flesh to Eat and Skulls of Souvenirs Many of us know serial killers, such as Jason and Freddy Krueger, but those are just characters in movies. Have you ever thought that these movies depict or can actually happen in real life? Well, it sucks to say, but they could. Infamous serial killers are known for killing many innocent people. They seek their victims selectively and/or randomly.
But taking the time to think more intensely about it, people have psychological/ behavioral problems that lead to unnecessary actions. It could all be because of things they went through as a child, or the environment they grew up in. Brandon Bowling, Maples murderer; may have been around a lot of violence in his life. Those acts of violence most likely influenced Bowling’s actions against others. Though witnessing violence isn’t always the case.
1. Similar to other diseases like, say, cancer, having family members who have it can increase your chance of getting it, though specific genes have been difficult to truly pin. 2. For those with Down syndrome, a gene contained in the extra chromosome increase the risk. 3.
I left him there but first I committed sodomy ( sexual acts) and then killed him. His brains were coming out of his ears when I left him.” This is a quote by one of the most famous serial killers, Carl Panzram. If you was to take a survey on if serial killers are born with the effect or it's in the environment probably over half would say it is the environment.
Mass murderers and serial killers are nothing new to today’s society. We learn about them in TV shows, books, research papers, in our classes, etc. Psychologists have spent decades trying to uncover the truth behind these killers’ madness. Serial killers vary in their behaviors, techniques, desires, mental illnesses and their personal lives. Have you ever heard of the Tamiami Trail Killer?

Where the Wild Things are by Maurice Sendak is an interesting children’s picture book. The main character is a little boy named Max, who has a wild imagination. He uses all five senses as well as thought and his actions to express his personality as well as how he reacts and interacts with his surroundings. Max’s id, ego and super-ego are greatly shown in this book through the way that the author has portrayed him. Not only is this book a children’s story, but it can also be perceived as a life lesson.

A lot of serial killers have an aversion of rejection that is often irrational. 3. Power is a huge one. According to Twisted Minds the power to cause pain is the only power that matters(2007). C. Fun fact, the stereotype for a serial killer is a white middle age man who has no military background.
Not all serial murderers kill for the same reason or in the same way, a lot of them leave behind a “signature” which is something that a killer leaves at a crime scene, or does to a person, that signals that this is them who committed the crime, and often is done to play out a fantasy that the killer has.
