Jackson, founding member of the Jackson Five has written many jaw dropping songs, including my personal favorite “Thriller”. In Michael Jackson's “Thriller”, he serenades his audience about how there is always something lurking in the gloomy shadows even if you don't always notice. Michael's song uses many different ways to convey its central theme, including personification and hyperbole. The lyricist of “Thriller” reveals the theme through several literary devices. To begin with, Michael sings “the foulest stench is in the air the funk of forty thousand years”.
