Animal Testing
Imagine being locked up in a cage and having no control over anything in your life. You can’t choose what to eat, if you want children, your partner, really anything at all. What if you had to spend your entire life like this. Being alone, poisoned, burned, cut, starved, drowned, blinded, and brain-damaged. This happens to hundreds of animals every day. Animal testing has been going on for decades. But, it needs to stop. Innocent animals are tested on for the sake of human necessities and wants. Animal testing does have some benefits but, it can be done it other ways without harming animals. It is doing more bad than good. There are plenty of reasons why animal testing should not be allowed. Although there are some benefits to

The pain and suffering animals have to go through is horrible. They are locked up in a cage their whole life and will never get to decide anything. They are burned, poisoned, drowned, shocked, and many more painful test. They are also toxicity tested. They receive the test substance daily, seven days a week, for up to two years with no recovery periods (New England Anti-Vivisection, “Harm and Suffering”). Many of the animals are also restrained. The animals don 't suffer from only pain on a daily basis, but they also have severe stress from the day-to-day laboratory life. Animals are put through painful procedures daily and are stressed. There 's no point in putting animals through so much pain if there are alternatives. We can end the suffering of animals and still be able to perform tests with alternatives to benefit human …show more content…
We cannot rely on animal testing to say something is safe for human use because we are not the same as animals. “Applying information from animal research to humans are inevitable when researchers use animal models to study human diseases,” (New England Anti-Vivisection, “Limitations and Dangers”). Why would you test human diseases on animals if they are different, it’s not reliable. For example, penicillin is poisonous to guinea pigs and aspirin is poisonous to cats, but that is not the case for other animals or humans. Another example is the diet drug Phen-Fen caused no problems in animals, but it toxic to humans. Also, animal experiment results are affected. Their results aren’t very accurate. Since they are so stressed, it alters the results of the experiments.”Stress influences heart rate, pulse, blood pressure, muscular activity, and hormone levels and can modify the normal values of these variables significantly,” (NEAVS). The results from the animals would be very different in a human because they won’t be stressed like the animals are due to what they have to go through. We do not need to test on animals since their results are affected due to stress, and that would not be the case with humans. Even though millions of animals are tested on for cancer research and billions of dollars are spent on it, 95% of cancer drugs tested on animals fail. In fact, cancer has been cured in mice plenty of times but it does not work for
Did you know that millions of animals suffer in the U. S. just because of animal testing? When these animals are getting tested, they feel pain, but cannot react to it because they cannot speak up. To begin with, animal testing is not effective. Many animals do not get all of the same diseases that humans get.
Animal testing has been involved in medical research for a long time, resulting in an improvement of human health. The benefits of animal testing for medical research outweigh the drawbacks. Although opponents argue that the drawbacks of animal testing outweigh the benefits because animal testing is cruel, in actuality, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks because it saves human lives and is an affordable option. Many opponents argue that one drawback of animal testing is cruelty. They state that animals are subject to dreadful conditions, in the sense that they are restricted from daily activities.
How could making an animal suffer possibly ever be justified? “Rabbits get put in restraints for something called the draze test. ”-animal testing. Every animal on earth has a heart, a pain tolerance level, and a life. Just because maybe something does not screech, scream, punch, or put you in some sort of threat does not mean a thing.
Animal testing has been used by scientists to test drugs and makeup products for many years. They have been kept in labs, poked, prodded at, observed, forced to inhale, eat, and wear substances that have killed them. Millions of animals have died each year because of this testing, and it needs to be stopped. Animal testing should not be continued because it is ineffective, it wastes lives, and is inhumane. Animal testing needs to be discontinued because it is ineffective.
Humanity has a history of experimentation on animals and death is what will come of it if animals continue to be treated inhumanely. On a daily basis animals are removed from their natural habitat and taken to labs to be tested on for human products. Animal experimentation has become a very popular method of research and testing. This procedure is most common in the United States and European countries, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom being the most popular.
The harm animals undergo includes being infected with diseases they would not otherwise be susceptible to, electrocution, and having their spines crushed. This treatment that people are often unaware of is immoral, cruel, and unethical.
Animals are subjected to excruciating experiments daily. Countries such as Israel and India have stopped animal testing as well as Britain. “…countless animals are experimented on and then killed…” (Murnaghan 1). Animals are subjected to confined rooms all of their lives, used in painful experiments and then disposed of as if they are an inanimate object.
Since animal testing is cruel, inhumane, and alternative testing methods now exist, we should discontinue animal testing once and for all. For these reasons, animals should not be used in research or to test the safety of human products. To begin with, animal testing is cruel, inhumane and it violates animals’ rights. The USDA reported that in 2016, 71,370 animals suffered pain during experiments while being given no anesthesia at all for relief.
One significant issue with animal testing is the way the animals are treated in the laboratories. New England Anti-Vivisection Society says, “Animals in labs suffer not only pain from protocols, but also severe stress from day-to-day laboratory life. They spend their lives in barren cages, unable to make choices or express natural behaviors.” In addition, most of the animals never even step foot outside, but are kept in cages their entire lives. Because of this, they often show signs of insanity, and have been seen constantly screaming, ripping their own fur out, or even biting themselves.
The majority of the results that scientists get from using animals only work on the animals and not the humans. Also, it is animal cruelty to use animals as experiment. The scientists that use animal research are forcing these animals into immence pain. To add on, the Animal Welfare Act that is supposed to keep those animals out of harsh conditions, but only protects 5% of the animals. The other 95% of the animals are left with no protection.
Animal testing should be banned because it is an unethical process that subjects animals to so much pain. In addition, it should be banned because, it is inaccurate, unreliable, and its benefits to human beings have not yet been fully confirmed by the current research. Animal testing should be banned because it is an unethical process. According to statistics, about 128 million animals which include guinea pigs, cats, rats, hamsters, dogs, frogs, hamsters, dogs,
Animals should not be locked in cages in labs across the country those animals suffer in pain, ache with loneliness and long to be free. There are so many cheap, faster and non- animal tests that can replace the ones that are out there now. Animal testing isn't right and they need to get rid of it immediately and there are so many reasons why it should
Animal Testing is Inhumane. Multiple species are dying by normal nature happenings, such as being eaten or something like that. However, that 's just the life cycle. But even with this ongoing cycle, the deaths that happen in it don 't get anywhere close to the amount of animals killed by us humans. Each year, 100 million animals, including mice, rats, dogs, frogs, cats, and more, are all killed for scientific usage.
Science researches believe that products which have been tested on animals will make humans’ life better. However, the main concern on this issue is that animals are suffering from unnecessary pain. Animals are mostly exposed to radiation, forced to inhale poisonous gases and injected with harmful substances prior to the experiment. Thus, animal testing should be banned because it is cruel, the result is unreliable and expensive.
According to Peta, by exposing animals to dangerous substances, it not only ‘eats away’ at their health but the results are unreliable or not applicable to humans;
