Becoming A Teacher Essay

According to Business Insider, 80% of people that choose a job over money end up hating their career. Elementary teaching is a fulfilling career, with multiple benefits, and being able to help younger kids is rewarding. The responsibilities and skills it takes for this career can be overwhelming at first. Being able to make a positive impact on a younger kid’s life is rewarding. There are a couple qualifications needed to be able to become an elementary teacher.

Students that are wanting to become an elementary teacher should consider taking human development, child psychology, curriculum design, and literacy instruction. Those classes will help them teach classes to younger kids(“Qualifications for Being a Teacher”). When you're thinking about becoming a teacher you should consider whether you have some of the following qualities; communication skills, patience, physical stamina, and resourcefulness. You need to be able to communicate with your students and coworkers but also with the parents in a way that they will understand you. Being patient with your students can be very important, when they are struggling or don't understand what they are suppose to be doing you have to remain calm and help them. Physical stamina can be important too when working with younger kids it can get exhausting, you’ll need to be physically, mentally, and emotionally to be able to deal with the younger kids.
