Directions Cut the butter pieces into the flour until it is in tiny pieces. Stir in the sourdough starter, the milk, and the sugar until a soft dough just comes together. Cover and place the mixture in a warm spot to ferment for 7-12 hours. When ready to begin baking, combine the salt, the baking powder, and the baking soda in a very small bowl until evenly mixed. Sprinkle this mixture over the fermented dough and knead until it comes together into a cohesive, soft mass.
The recipe calls for 1 cup of leaven, 3.5 cups of spelt flour, 3.5 cups of whole wheat flour, 3 cups of tepid water, 2 teaspoons of salt, and coarse ground flour for dusting. After one hour of autolysing, take the dough out and punch it down gently on a clean surface. Stretch and fold the dough four times at 30 minute increments, then form the dough into a ball.

They were delicious because they had a sweet taste with the syrup. I loved the breakfast, but I still couldn’t help but imagine what kind of fun adventures the others were doing. Christmas time is one of the only times every year that my dad’s side of the family gets together to relax, exchange gifts, and eat pistachios. “Food Inc.” is a documentary which uncovered the truth about food industries in America. Contrary to the images they are showing to the public, animals like cows and chickens are no longer raised on the field but in unsanitary and infectious houses. Cows are forced to eat corns instead of grass, which caused them E. coli, and instead of abandoning this new technology companies just use more chemicals to erase virus out of meat. Farmers and workers are forced to work underpaid and not allowed to talk about the companies’ policies. Slaughterhouses are getting bigger and bigger, thus it is easier for virus and bacteria to pass from one animal to the other through the hand of the workers.
