One of the problems playing a great role in this confusing web is povery. According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of poverty is “the state of being extremely poor”. Now people might think, “So what? Why should I care?”. Well one thing is for sure; every person should care.
Statistics show that there are over 35 million Americans that live in poverty. That is almost 10% of the whole population. There are many reasons that cause poverty in America. The lack of jobs that are available for people with a low education. People can’t get the education they need because colleges are too expensive.
Causes like those of hunger, unstable housing, and lack of funding lead to poor performance, worse standardized test scores, and a lack of social development and belonging among peers.
