Summer vacation is the time of year that all students can’t wait for. Some people argue that summer vacation is too long and it affects the student’s performance in the following school year. (Harris Cooper 2016). Although people think that the summer holiday is disadvantageous, it is actually very beneficial in various ways. Having summer vacation gives students a lot of opportunities that they don’t get while having school on their backs. One opportunity is, spending quality time with their family. Most of the students can use that time off to spend it bonding with their loved ones. (Lackawanna County 2011). Another benefit is that summer vacation releases stress and pressure. Students have a lot of work to do that it stresses them out and it results in a bad way. They can release stress and relax during summer vacation doing other activities. (EmaxHealth 2013). Lastly, it gives them the chance to take courses that they need to apply for a certain university or to improve their skills. (Short Courses Portal 2015). Overall, summer vacation is very beneficial for students to spend time with family, release stress, and take up courses they need. Firstly, spending quality time with your family is very important but students have to attend school, making it very hard to sit and reconnect with their family. Meanwhile, they are always worrying about tests, quizzes, homework, and exams. A lot of the time they are in their own room studying for upcoming tests or doing homework.
