Fourteen billion pounds of garbage is dumped into the ocean every year. And most of that is plastic or harmful chemicals. Over 1 million seabirds and 100,000 sea mammals are killed by pollution every year. People who live in places with high levels of air pollutants have a 20% higher risk of death from lung cancer than people who live in less polluted areas, As stated by DoSomething.org. We have to find a way to polluting the waters. The ways that water pollution can no longer be an issue is, if we change the materials in plastic, make a trash filter through an ocean, and if we make trash eating fish that will not be harmed. To start off, water pollution is a real world issue. The pollution of water is found all over the world in all oceans. A way that we could possibly stop that, is to change the materials in …show more content…
We can create a special type of fish that does not kill marine life, but eats and digests trash into nothing. That will benefit the whole world by making the ocean cleaner and it will keep the marine life healthy and not getting sick because of digesting harmful pollutants. Trash and harmful pollutant chemicals are what causes marine life to get sick and die, and causes a real world issue with polluted water. We eat fish and fish live in the polluted water so humans can get sick from the harmful chemicals that are in fish. In conclusion, water pollution can no longer be an issue if we change the materials in plastic, make a trash filter through an ocean, and if we make trash eating fish that will not be harmed. Those are all reasonable functions that can be done. If they are done, it will change the whole world for the better. It will make marine life healthier and in result causes less sickness from humans eating fish. Water pollution comes from humans and humans are the only ones that can fix
Animals being effected by trash, such as plastic, ending up in the ocean, the forest, and neighborhood parks are being quickly wiped
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.
Out of all controversial topics, environmental health must be one of the most applicable and relevant topics talked about today. Basically, environmental health is living in a healthy environment. Activists fought for environmental justice because certain living areas resulted in many casualties. Fast forward to today, there is federal law that keeps us safe and for the most part, we all live in healthy environments. There are organizations such as NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences) that identify environmental agents that cause illness to guarantee a safe place to live for everyone.

Water Pollution is a huge environmental problem that has serious effects on marine habitats, animals, and water quality. BP1: The world's marine habitat has been getting worse because of how bad the pollution has gotten. “ Over 80% of marine pollution comes from land based activities “ (source 5 ). This quote explains how most of the water pollution is caused by human activity. “ Plastic litter does not degrade, can be expected to last in the oceans for hundreds of years “ ( source 6 ).
In the New York Times, on Sept. 28, 2014, Lewis Pugh writes an editorial called “Swimming Through Garbage.” He describes his experiences traveling into the seven seas and makes a claim to draw attention towards the health of our oceans. First, Pugh describes the litter, plastic bags, bottles, cans, shoes, and clothing on our ocean floor. However, Pugh was even more shocked about what he didn’t see, no sharks, no whales, no dolphins, all living life had been fished out (Para 4-5). Pugh says that over 100 million sharks are fished out of the ocean every year (Para 7).

Stop Taking Clean Water for Granted Can you stop for a moment and think what would happen if we didn’t have water; clean water? It seems impossible, as we use water to drink, cook, clean, grow things, and for everything else in life. Unfortunately, because of the easy access to one of the most plentiful, and most valuable resources in the world, some people take water for granted. In contrast, other poor people live in places where the only easy way to get water is from a dirty irrigation ditch. Or their only source of water is backyard faucet shared by several homes.

Acid Rain “Acid Rain 30 Years On.” The New York Times, The New York Times, 23 Aug. 2010, www.nytimes.com/2010/08/24/opinion/24tue4.html. More than 30 years ago a skeptic persuaded senates to perform a study to find out if they should be worrying about Acid rain. The study showed that yes they should be worrying about acid rain because it is making 3,000 lakes and streams too acidic to support aquatic life. Due to the studies the 1990 Clean Air Act was established and basically said that major power plants had to lower the amount of sulfur dioxide emitted.
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
An experiment was done in United States, opening a dead bird they found out his body was full of trash. When you have done the change in you life, influence friends to make change too. you need to make a connection with the nature, to learn and understand that your actions can have a strong impact. Many people around the world are cleaning up beaches from trash, some marine biologists are snorkeling to collect trash in the sea, some have almost died tangled with fish line, there are campaigns helping with conserving some species in danger and the ocean, lend your support to them and love the ocean and
Marine pollution such as presence of organic matter in the ocean can result in the condition known as hypoxia or oxygen depletion and this can have adverse effect on the marine life including plant and animals and fish. Death of these fish can result in loss of millions of US dollars that are generate from the fishing industry. Marine pollution can also result in presence of foul smell resulting from the decomposing sewage being directed to the ocean and this has the effects to hinder recreational activities taking place in the sea as well as cause discomfort and breathing problem to the surrounding population (Laura, 11).marine pollution can also result in danger to human health. The human swimmers and water sport lovers can become endangered by swimming in the polluted marine waters (Laura,
