Multitasking is the process of dealing with more than one task at the same time. Teenagers in this day and age often use multitasking in there everyday life, for instance they might listen to music, watch television and do their homework all at the same time. Doing just two of those tasks ( music and television) can take away from the main thing that you’re supposed to be doing (homework). Multitasking is not beneficial for teenagers! One of the reasons is that multitasking doesn’t allow you to focus on relevant information, it takes longer to complete objectives, and when multitasking your more likely to make mistakes. Multitasking is consuming the everyday lives of teenagers and should be at least limited to how many times teens do multitask, but multitasking is certainly not beneficial for teenagers.
To begin with, when teenagers multitask they can’t focus on relevant information and there’s no doubt in mind that it’s more efficient to complete a task one at a time from start to finsh. Multitasking causes your brain to branch off and focus on different things at the same time, this can basically cause your brain to over heat and not function as well as it could. According to “Teen Reasearchers Defend Media Multitasking” Dr.Nass states that “in a study of 100 college age students heavy media multitaskers were less effective than people doing one task at a time in functions of memory, paying attention, and switching between activities”. This basically means that
Alina Tugend, author of, “Multitasking Can Make You Lose … Um … Focus,” is an accredited author that is featured in multiple respected publications. This article was published in the New York Times in 2008. The article talks about multitasking and how most people think that is a great thing, but in reality it causes more problems that we know. Mrs. Tugend voices her opinion on how multitasking hurts more people that it helps. Her opinions are clearly voiced throughout this article that she does not think multitasking is a benefit for people.
Unbundling which is also known as fragmentation is the practice of submitting bills piecemeal or in a fragmeted fashion to maximize reimbursement. I think unbundling is considered a fradulent method of coding because Medicare and Medicaid requires certain procedures to be billed under one code. If these guidelines aren 't being followed it 's to obtain a higher reimbursement rate. I think unbundling is an unethical practice because it 's legally wrong as well as morally to try to gain higher incentives for personal gain. " Manipulating or altering billing codes to maximize reimbursement from government healthcare programs like Medicare and Medicaid is a type of healthcare fraud that can be reported by whistleblowers under the Qui Tam
In “Multitasking Can Make You Lose. . . Um . . . Focus” the author’s main claim is that while people may think multitasking is saving time it is not as beneficial as it may seem. She follows with the sub-claim that states “Although doing many things at the same time - reading an article while listening to music, switching to check email messages and talking on the phone- can be a way making task more fun and energizing,”you have to keep in mind that you sacrifice focus when you do this”(Tugend). This shows how multitasking is not as beneficial as it may seem while in the process.
Markman suggests that removing the chances of a person getting involved in multitasking will develop a Culture of Smart. He points out that when a situation or task is highly important; it requires an individual’s complete attention.
Multitasking in today's society is popular from texting and driving to listening to music and reading. But is doing two task simultaneously really beneficial? Doing two things at once maybe faster and save some time, but being faster may not be beneficial, proven to be detrimental. You are not actually doing both task simultaneously, instead, you are diverting your attention from one part of your brain to another. The other side of the brain is starting a new activity, so you are actually doing the task slower and most likely slacking on both task by doing two activities at the same time.
There are also distractions that are time consuming. As stated from the text, Is Google Making Us Stupid by Nicholas Carr he states, “If were distracted, we understand less, remember less, and learn less.” This shows when on screen time adolescents have less learning skills for the further future. Distractions take teens away from family and school work. According to the Article Growing up Digital from Allison Miller’s perspective she states, “I’ll be reading a book for homework and I’ll get a text message and pause my reading and put down the book, pick up the phone to reply to the text messages, and then 20 minutes later realize, ‘
Sherry Turkle once said: “When we think we are multitasking, our brains are actually moving quickly from one thing to the next, and our performance degrades for each new task we add to the mix.” I find myself to agree with this statement. Many individuals have different definitions of multitasking or unit-tasking means to them. To me multitasking is when an individual is constantly moving and performing multiple tasks at the same time at a steady or quick pace. This individual can stay focused and perform each task successfully.

I 'm not going to say that all of us have one or two outdated desktop computers rolling around the house. Some people have never been into computers, obviously. But, quite a few of us have a couple of these old machines that we just don 't want to get rid of. Call it being sentimental, but these desktops have served us well for a while and it doesn 't feel right just kicking them out.

I prefer online learning "its allows for learning in distant or disadvantaged locations, online education is easy to access and provides a convenient way to obtain course materials such as homework, exams, schedules, test scores and more" I say this because some students may need a little more time to understand the material that is getting taught. Another reason is fitting school into students ' schedules. Some people are lucky to go to school and be carefree. On the other hand, some kids have to work and help provide for their families and can 't afford to be at school all day. Well online learning can help with that in a major way.
