Persuasive Essay: Is College Education Worth It?

A child does not typically think about their lives ahead. Although they may not think about it, it is still there. Life ahead means getting a job to make money for everything else and if one wants a good job in the future, then college is the best option. College education is worth it because it makes a person better and more educated, it is not as expensive as some think, and college pays for itself once there is a good job to pay for it.
A college education has higher benefits in the long run for better higher paying jobs. Some people think no matter what it gives them it just is not worth the cost. Although, a lot of graduates of college stated that it treated them well, taught them more and college was worth their time (Pew Social and Demographic Trends). It is easy to think college is not worth the cost to become better, but getting educated makes people better, and happier in the future and sometimes even in better health (Leonhardt 25 ). Becoming a better and happier person is good for everyone. Even former President Obama says “‘Education helps us be better people. It helps us be better citizens. You came to college to learn about the world and to engage with new ideas and to discover the things you 're passionate about -- and maybe have a little fun’” (Procon.org). Learning and engaging in everything is a skill everyone should have, so like he said we should go to college to be able to do that. Additionally, education shows people to develop more intellectual skill and become more responsible (Pew Social and Demographic Trends).
