Making The Ultimate Choice
Abortions throughout the world are a major controversy. Discovers show that “almost 350,000 teenagers under the age of eighteen become pregnant each year. Approximately eighty-two percent of these pregnancies are unintended, fifty-five percent of pregnant teenagers give birth, fourteen percent have miscarriages, and thirty-one percent have abortions” (Laws 1). Many different people have different perspectives about abortion. There are many questions being asked, like “who should make the choice to kill preborn babies” (Brown 1). People believe that the answer is nobody. At the same time others believe that “unsafe abortions is the cause of seventy thousand maternal

In Fact there are some serious complications that may occur when you are trying to abort. These abortions are considered “unsafe abortions.” Unsafe abortions can lead women to death or unhealthy diseases. In an article written by Susan Cohen , it says “almost forty-two million abortions take place around the world each year, about twenty million are unsafe” (Cohen 2). Instead of having their baby, twenty million women decide to have an unsafe abortion and risk their life. It puts the woman’s health in danger and it is also a dangerous procedure to do. An article states that “most women cannot afford to pay private-sector prices, so they go to the public health facilities where quality of care is poor” (Cohen 4). Women that have no money rather have an unsafe abortion because they want to get rid of the baby as soon as possible. If a woman goes to a public health facility, there is a chance that the woman may die or have complications in the future due to poor care. Why should women have an unsafe abortion and put their lives at risk? Women should not have an abortion at all; they are harming their self and innocent baby. Around the world studies show that “five million women are hospitalized each year for treatment of abortion related complications” (Haddad 1). Women are harming themselves and ending up in the hospital for having an unnecessary abortion. There are some …show more content…
The author of the article reported that “permitting abortion for fetal deformities translates to the theory that some lives are not worth living, and no one has the right to say which individual is worthy of life” (Brown 1). If a woman has a baby that is deformed the mother may have the choice to abort if she would like to. A mother should not have to deal with a deformity child if she does not wish to. In an article written by Judie Brown, she says “ should abortion be legal choice at all? If the issue were slavery, murder, robbery or rape, such questions would not even be considered” (Brown 1). If a woman got raped and ends up pregnant, she has the right to not have the baby. Why should a woman have to take care of a baby that was caused by rape? The baby will only bring back bad memories to the woman cause she had the baby by being raped. The best option is to have an abortion for the mother to be satisfied because she would not want a baby that was caused by rape. In the other hand an abortion is not the right thing to do at all , “choice is important to us all but we should not endorse choices that drastically and unjustly limit the choices of other human beings” (Brown 1). Abortion is not the solution at all, killing a human being and hurting your body should not be the way out , make wise choices when thinking about

• Women do not always choose to have unprotected sex. Coercion, manipulation, rape and the abuse of alcohol and other drugs can deny a woman her right to act freely or use contraception. • An abortion performed safely with no complications will not reduce a woman’s future fertility. • Abortion does not cause ongoing emotional distress for most
Abortion is full of excuses, going against God’s will, and murder. America should reconsider the laws and regulations of the countries soon to be mothers. Because abortion is a deliberate termination of a human life, women should not legally have the option to choose one. Making excuses for reasons a mother can kill her baby is wrong. For example, a mother having a baby she doesn’t want is no excuse to end a life.
Women who are victims of rape will always be in remembrance of their terrifying experience, which sometimes result in neglect and unfair treatment of the child due to the woman’s rape trauma syndrome. Women who are not financially stable that are pregnant and oppose abortion live in poverty. If abortions were banned it would increase illegal abortions which have critical effect to the woman’s health. Statistics estimate that the risk of death from an abortion is 0.6 in 100,000. The risk of death childbirth is 14 times higher, 8.8 in 100,000.
There are two sides to this debate in which individuals identify themselves as either “pro-choice” or “pro-life.” Supporters classify themselves as pro-choice, and argue “that choosing abortion is a right that should not be limited by governmental or
Firstly, some woman may be victims of rape at any time. This is one the biggest reasons why abortion is considered normal and the solution for such a problem. A lot of woman have faced rape and could not accept the fact of becoming pregnant in this way. The woman may find it very hard to raise a baby born in these circumstances with no legal marriage and no father to take care of the child.
Doris Gudino Professor Chounlamountry Political Science 1 27 July 2015 Pro-Choice Anyone? A woman has, undoubtedly, the freedom to procreate, but once a woman chooses to retreat from that freedom, a commotion arises. Abortion is a woman’s choice for many reasons. It’s her body, therefore, no one else can decide for said person.
It seems difficult to count every individual that could possibly be affected by an abortion. It could be few or many depending on the size of the family. It seems like not having an abortion, the greatest happiness for the greatest number occurs. Putting utilitarian thought aside, killing seems inarguably wrong and that is what an abortion is. It could not be possible for killing an innocent child to be right.
Abortion is in fact the ending of pregnancy before birth and refers to the destruction of the embryo or foetus prior to life by removing the fetus in the uterus. An abortion can be either occurs naturally, that is due to an accident, disease, trauma or genetic incompatibility of the mother and foetus. Or, it can occur artificially, that is the foetus is removed by medical means or in the backstreet by unqualified people known as charlatans. Such risky abortions often result in septicaemia. Abortion is a major problem affecting most couples especially when contraceptives are ineffective.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
The conflict over abortion in America has been a major social problem in our nation for decades. During the 1960 's and 70 's with the coinciding civil rights movement and women’s rights movement, abortion became the new national issue that we still see today between two opposing ideologies, grouped into sides coined as pro-life and pro-choice. It is one of the biggest debates over whose morals and beliefs are adequate for our society that make the abortion issue such a controversial and divisive one. Each side believes that their views and beliefs are what we are a society should follow and belief.
Abortion is one of the most controversial topics discussed in our world today. Millions of fetuses never got a chance to be born because a mother chose to abort them. Although I do not believe in abortion, I believe a woman should have the right to decide whether to have a baby or not. Our textbook presents views and arguments on the issues. The article from our text on “A Defense of Abortion” written by Judith Jarvis Thomason states the right to have an abortion should be the pregnant woman’s decision.
Abortion is probably one of the biggest debates to date in the United State. The article was a pro-abortion article, and gave examples as to why it is a women’s right to choose. It was written by a doctor who shares the opinion that abortion is okay. There may be a time where it is necessary for a woman to have the choice to have an abortion or not. Those choices could include rape, or if the pregnancy will cause serious health issues to the mother.
(Tanner) Pro-choice defenders also say that it is the woman 's right to choose to have the baby or not, forgetting the baby 's rights. The life of a human being begins at the moment of conception, and it is not the fetus´s fault if the mother wasn 't ready to have a baby or if the situation in which baby was conceived wasn 't ideal. For example, if the baby is conceived by rape, the baby should not pay the consequences of other people, he or she has not done anything wrong .”Compassion for the mothers is extremely important, but it is never
Never mind the morality of abortion, even the health risks are unbelievable. When a woman receives an abortion she runs a 65 percent higher risk of clinical depression and 160 percent more likely to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment. Abortions create more complications than going full term with a
