In Collins English Dictionary (2012), beauty is defined as the connection of all the element of a person or things that pleasure the sense and please the mind. According to Merriam Webstar Dictionaries, obsession means a state in which someone thinks about something continually, regularly or frequently in a way that is not normal. Every student wants to look pretty as they love to get compliments from people around them, give good perception and achieve acceptance among themselves. The desire to be beautiful is not a mistake, but it turns to be huge mistakes when they are obsessed with their looks.

Advertisers seek to persuade students so that they will enhance and improve their beauty if they used the product. For examples, celebrities such as Amyra Rosli was hired as the ambassador of Aurawhite and Nora Danish as the ambassador of Safi Rania Gold. They are very popular and most people adore with their natural beauty and their physical appearance. Students believe they must achieve the level of perfection shown by the model so they tend to be obsessed. This is not a healthy obsession as it detrimental to mental and physical health. They have been trying so hard to gain an attractive physical image by over-controlled their consumption of food and eating weight-loss pills. It give huge impact on youth development where the effects have been well-documented, and led to rising in eating disorder, low self-esteem, depression and early sexualization (Farahnaz Mohammed (2013)). Eating disorder such as bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa , self harm and other physiological illnesses become more common in students.
