Some schools tend to change the schools lunch menu to make it more healthier for some students , but takes out the food that all the students crave for at lunch time. While some people believe changing the lunch menu to make it more healthier is better for the students, I believe changing the menu and taking out some of the good food choices is a bad idea because the cafeterias would not make as much money, lots of students will complain, and more food while be getting wasted. Cafeterias and the school wouldn't be making as much money as they normally do because the students favorite food variety is gone and they don't want to eat the healthy food. Also, the school can lose money because the food gets old and they have to continue to buy more food even though nobody is eating the food. Therefore, changing the menu will cause lots of complaining and arguments with the students parents and the principal. If the students are not getting what they'll like then they will tell their parents to come done to school so they can have a talk with the principal about their child not eating at school. Complaints will turn into having meetings for the school and the school board. If students don't eat the food and keep complaining then they might be able to get a petition so they can get the food back to what they had last time. Although, some people may eat the food, a lot will waste the food by throwing it away. The cafeterias will end up throwing it away to because no one is eating it and the food gets old and rot so they have to throw it in the trash. If the cafeteria people leave the food out to long then that can cause bugs to come. Bugs will defiantly make people not buy the food. Another thing is some people may not like healthy food or is allergic. If they don't know what's in the food they can get sick
Also, they believe that they should stick to the menu that they have now because the school would be better off making more money on the regular lunch menu, other than than healthier lunch menu that they want to give us. However, students need to be more healthier and stop stuffing their faces with junk food that is not good for them and that is causing severe health conditions. The lunch menu consists of: Blue Raspberry slushies, Hot cheetos, Chicken patties, nice big juicy Hamburgers, Fried chicken, greasy French fries, Grape and Orange sodas, etc. The lunch menu we have is not very healthy at all. The lunch menu that we need to consist of: Mixed Salad, Orange juice, Apple juices, Fruits, Baked chicken, more vegetables ,and sell less snakcs.
Do you think school lunches are healthy for you or no? Allowing the principal to let us change the meals would lead to less healthy foods then they already are. Its a good thing to have healthier foods since they provide energy for the school day, allowing kids focused more on there works then there stomach growling. . The healthier the food you eat the less your stomach growls to disturb your thinking process or work ethic. Not eating as healthy could lead to energy lost.
The entire day is composed of students being herded in masses to and from classrooms and eating the awful food. America needs to rethink how high schools work, and the best way to start is to allow open-campus lunches. Allowing students to leave campus and purchase their own food gives the students the freedom to make choices. This is a freedom every American has and is the basis of capitalism. Plain and simple, cafeteria food is disgusting.

From a parent’s perspective who would not want their child to grow up happy and healthy. Through the past years of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA implemented their new guideline throughout the nation for school lunches to have more fruits and vegetables while cutting out the fatty foods such as French fries or Coke; it would be expected that the general public would have some complaints. School lunches give students a healthy balanced diet that contribute to a healthy physical and psychological development especially in the younger ages (Jeon 130).

In some schools some principals superintendents have made a decision to opt out of the Healthy choice foods and make there own semi-healthy foods that kids like. To reduce waste and bring back students who have opted to pack a lunch or go off campus for fast food, his districts cafeterias have installed stir-fry stations with abundant vegetables so students can have meals made to order. and he’s added spice bars so kids can even the bland. In schools some principals and administrators are starting to take action.

Schools have a number of items to choose from for lunch every single day, they can range from pizza, to burritos. If you have been at a particular school for a while than you could get bored and tired of the same items every other day. Your school decides to change the lunch menu to a healthier and newer lunch menu. Is this a good idea or a bad idea? School can be tiresome and hard.
