Students need to be taught at an early age that we should respect one another no matter what we wear ; similarly students need to be taught that what a person wears does not define who they are. When students learn to respect others no matter what they wear it makes them be more open minded, and makes them more respectful and kinder. One example is that when people wear what they prefer and feel more comfortable in people will respect them more because they were taught from a young age to respect each gender no matter what they put on their bodies. Many people believe that school uniforms decrease bullying but actually in the article ¨School uniforms¨ it states that in a 2007 study school uniforms increased the number of assaults by 14 and school incidents rose by 12%. If we did not have school uniforms we will learn to respect one another and be kinder which will help us in the
For example from the article “School Uniforms- Pros and Cons” it says that there is less peer pressure to fit in when they’re not wearing the trendy brands and they’re all wearing the same thing. From the article “Pros and con” it states “Students always want to wear the “popular” brand of clothing and they talk about it too which gets them off topic” (Hertzler,1). By having school uniforms students will stay more focused on schoolwork instead of what the “popular trend” or brand is for that moment. Students like talking about in class what style or type of clothing they’re getting. Usually kids also compliment each others clothes which would get them off topic and not paying attention in class.
Plenty of researches and studies have shown the positive effects that are impacted on the child’s achievement when parental involvement is seen in the child’s education (Gordon & Browne 2011). Besides that, teachers can also try to help the child by setting a personal individual teaching time with the children. Since the parents are busy at work and nobody is helping the child with his work, parents and teacher can come to a term whereby to sent the child to school a little earlier so that the teacher can help the child in his work. This would definitely help the child to cope back with his work and also to feel more confident and happy, as he would know that someone else is there to support and guide him instead. Young children need lots of scaffolding from adults around them.
However, they are not teaching us things that we would have to learn from experience later in our lives. They are not focused on teaching us what to expect when we reach the age of adulthood, they are focused on teaching us about the subjects appointed by the Department of Education (DOE). This is the issue we face every day with the school system because although it is great to have a better understanding in these subjects, they should also focus on teaching us how to prepare for the real world. I strongly believe that they should be teaching us how to save money, how to be a better candidate for a job application, and how we are are going to need to be independent. Education should not just be about our academics or else we will never get anywhere.
As Vangelli states her desire to attend a school where she “could feel comfortable taking an exam without worrying about someone someone looking at my paper (Source B),” she demonstrates the voice of many hardworking students that end up with the same grades as a student who, for example, plagiarized throughout the course. In order to create a healthy environment, there have to be consequences set for those that do not follow the honor code to ensure maximum efficiency of the system no matter how harsh they may be. It is crucial for schools to provide students an environment where they can live up to their full potential and that can only be done through proper regulations that create a sense of trust between students and faculty (Source
Farber believes that the grades create phony motivation and students only want to please the teachers. According to Farber, students only retain the material until they are graded on it. No longer having a grading system would leave students having no drive in school. Schools would no longer have a basic form of ranking the students and see how well they are doing. Students would no longer want to see the point in striving to be the best when everyone is ranked the same.
Before transitioning to a mainstream environment, your child must demonstrate that she can handle the new school without significant outbursts, meltdowns, elopement or other inappropriate behavior. A mainstream school may allow fidget tools, some physical movement and other accommodations during classes, but in general, your child must possess coping skills and demonstrate acceptable behavior that supports a calm and safe environment for herself, peers and teachers. Social
Many students that know uniforms will be beneficially, but don’t agree with school uniforms will continue to disagree with implementing them. It can be easily agreed that school uniforms may take away their self-expression in school, but what matters more in school is the way of learning. It can also be agreed that many students do not accept the self-expression of their classmates and make fun of them. Students, parents, and school administration should be able to recognize the benefits that school uniforms come with. In conclusion, school uniforms are a great thing to have in schools.
In my opinion honor codes can be beneficial, when put in the right environment, I believe that my school should implement an honor code in order to better prepare students for the more rigorous and merciless world and to build a better school environment full of honesty and trust. Man people would argue that an honor code is redundant and superfluous and as depicted by Sally Sledge and Pam Pringle 48% of students believe the honor code has been executed in a fair way and only 8% would report a classmate for violating the honor code. If students are bound to cheat and the honor code is not being enforced or is not fair, why have it? The environment in many schools impacts how students view the honor code. A school with a cheater mentality and an overall acceptance of cheating and plagiarism will have no use for an honor code, since they will not follow it.
Their guardians or whoever they live with needs to help them be an educated person so that they could have a bright future. Finally, parents need to encourage their children to do the best they can in school so they could be a successful person and live the life they dreamed of when they grow up. Therefore, the main reason students cheat in school is because they are pressured by someone in their life to do well. If we don’t encourage students to try their best and not to cheat, then we will have no future scientists, engineers, doctors or any jobs that could make the world be a better place. As expressed, cheating is not helping students learn at all and parents need to step up and encourage them to do the best they can- no matter
