This was Tessa Jowell opinion about curfews explaining how teenager need their freedom and how they have rights but, what about the right to feel safe. A curfew is a prevention of people of a certain age from being in public during certain hours, usually overnight. Crime regularly takes place at night, and by applying a law that prevents a majority of the population from cruising at night, could be sufficient. According to Psychologist & researcher Michael Dennis about the importance of a curfew, it can manage and keep a teenager away from bad decisions and bad situations. Curfews help kids to focus on whats important like school work and keeps them out of trouble. Not to mention studies did should the most cases, curfew help kids develop a better relationship with their parents (Dennis, 2012).
First, It can be argued that curfews are beneficial for children who go by it than who don’t. It 's been reported that kids with curfews tend to experience structure and it’s a perfect teaching method for rules and regulation (K.Ginsburg, S.FitzGerald, 2011). Curfews are important at any age, it teaches the teenagers to recognize and respect authority. For kids who receive orders and regulations from their parent and obey them, this teaches pride knowing that they achieved their parent’s or guardian 's request (Kelly Townsend, 2012).
