Our world is a pretty bad place to be in right now. We have so many problems to deal with: global warming, holes in the ozone layer, poaching, rising seas, high crime rates, fast-dwindling resources, pollution, etc. All these problems make it a huge problem to be on Earth. Despite all the good that we have done, such as surviving as a very dominant species, inventing many new technologies, exploring outer space, etc., what have we done to give back to nature? We are very selfish in taking natural resources away from nature at a very alarming pace, yet none of it is helping nature at all! I read the other day in my Chemistry textbook that we have only about 40-50 years left until we run out of oil and natural gas!
Right now, we have created so many harsh problems to our society that it’s almost beyond repair now. It will take a few decades for nature to mend the holes in the ozone layer. By that time, we would have used even more CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), and created larger holes. It takes millions of years to create fossil fuels. We are using them at such a fast pace that we’ll soon have to look for different sources of energy. Even the renewable resources, such as animals and fish are dwindling and will soon become non-renewable. Overfishing has left very few marine animals left. Poaching has resulted in many

For example, we all know about the “Swachh Bharat” (Clean India) initiative introduced by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Many of us talk about it and discuss the huge problems that pollution creates. However, the same person throws a wrapper on the ground, stating that “it’s not a very big deal. It’s just one piece of plastic.” Unfortunately thousands, if not millions of people have that same thought, and those thousands and millions of pieces of plastic result in the huge expanses of landfills and polluted areas that are now commonplace in our
The first attempt and success to climb Mt. Everest occured in 1953. Since then, almost 4,000 people have been able to scale the mountain, but over 230 people have not been able to climb it successfully. There is a chance of accident or death when climbing this mountain or any dangerous activity. All people should should have the right to rescue services even if they knowingly put themselves at risk because there is always a chance of an accident happening, rangers are there to save people in danger, and there are rescue vehicles being produced to be used in case of an emergency.
The Freshman 15 is a thought that crosses the minds of most future college students, but most say that it won’t happen to them. This fear of losing a toned body after graduating high school bothers some more than others. They realize after high school there are no longer athletics, and they’ll no longer be exercising regularly. Also, when they depart from their parents house and begin to live on their own their eating habits change.
Colonizing Mars Mars is often voted by people as being the most likely place for humans to colonize after we are done with Earth. This is often said because of Mars’s similar size to Earth and similar climate. However, Mars might not be the best place to go when we decide to make our first extra-terrestrial home. Whether you believe we should colonize another planet or not, evidence proves that moving to Venus is both logical and cost effective. There is much more promise in visiting Venus and much more we can learn.
Running, that word gives many people different emotions that range all the way from disgust to excitement. Most people will say that they would never willingly run, at least not without some motivation and other people might even say that they enjoy it. This is why the sport of cross country is so strange to people, in fact it is strange to me as well that people would willingly run, despite the fact that I actually run cross country. The main reason that people don 't think running is fun is because it is so physically challenging. Running requires you to always be on your game, the slightest injury or distraction can prevent you from doing your best.
Climate Change This quote said by Washington State Governor, Jay Inslee shows the severity of climate change “We are the first generation to feel the sting of climate change, and we are the last generation that can do something about it.” “On Earth human activities are changing the natural greenhouse of the Earth.” (A blanket around the Earth). Burning fossil fuels is causing carbon dioxide to be released into the air.
The book, Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley introduces a theoretical world where life is simple and content. The new world is made up of human beings that are conditioned for predestined roles in what is called the World State. The World State uses a cloning process to create clones that are conditioned to perform identical tasks at identical machines. This process is one of the tools used to implement the World State’s motto: “Community, Identity, Stability.” This motto and world tend to resemble worlds of utopia, where everything is perfect and there are no highs and lows in life.
Poverty is one of the most horrific epidemics in our society today. Poverty is the state of being extremely poor. It is a very serious problem that many people suffer from today. Many issues such as illness, hunger, and bad sanitation are all causes of poverty. Statistics show that there are over 35 million Americans that live in poverty.
It is commonly known throughout human history that the energy used is burned from coal which creates biomass. During the Industrial Revolution, coal was an essential need to everyone, hence the discovery of oil as a substitute. Yet, the mass formation from the unearthing of oil causes more damage than benefits for the planet. Humanity had never seen a more compatible source in which came a higher demand for oil. As the public has urged to generate more oil, scientists theorized that fossil fuels will eventually run out, making way for a renewable energy route in the future (Mason).
Climate Change is one of the most unsettling problems mankind faces today. It leaves an impact on every single living thing, on every continent, no matter the privilege. Long term investment must be used to change the world. People must do more than just change out their light bulbs for eco-friendly ones, or drive fuel efficient cars. A choice as simple as changing our diets could reduce a human’s carbon footprint by fifty percent.
Climate Change is something that we have caused because of our choices to burn fossil fuels, at some point we have to face the problems that we have created. The consequences of Climate Change are horrific and Climate Change could end our existence as a species, most people do take action against Climate Change except, The Government of the United States of America, refuses to accept the serious dangers of climate change and continues releasing propaganda on Climate Change, claiming its effects are minimal and that we are not causing it. Peculiar how almost every other government in the world thinks otherwise. The reasons we are heading in the wrong direction is because the actions of humans are causing Climate Change, and almost all scientists agree on this matter. Another reason is the that the government isn’t trustworthy in what they say about Climate Change, meaning what they say about Climate Change is wrong, and we should change our policy on Climate Change.
As much as we may want to know what lies beyond our earth, there are bigger issues that our government must address. More people are affected by poverty than by space. The government must focus their resources and efforts to one problem at a time, and with a third of the UK living under the ‘poverty line’ more money should be spent helping the poor, rather than on space research. If the government doesn 't handle the economic crisis with care, we will all end up poor – but to treat the situation properly requires more funding.
Creation is something people have different opinions about worldwide, this is a topic that has many different theories. There have been many different ideas that people have thought of in order to try to get people to think that it wasn’t God who created the earth. Almost always the new story got its ideas, based off the story of God’s creation of earth. Some of these crazy theories even try to show that humans were originally monkeys, before they were humans. God spent a lot of time and thought when he was creating the earth, and for people to deny it and not give God any thought is very sad.
this damage will have devastating consequences for future human generations all other life of earth yet we continue to use fossil fuels. This is for a few reasons, firstly we are so reliant of them that it will be impossible to completely change to renewables overnight . fossil fuels are still the cheapest form of energy available so why would individual people and business chose otherwise to put money into renewable research,, well governments around world have realised the danger of global warming and they know an overnight switch is impossible so the have implemented taxes on fossil fuels and inefficient use of them and put this money into renewable energy research, also provided grants and tax breaks for people and business that are switching to renewables. these actions will slowly make renewable energy more cost effective and appealing to everyone and will move the world away from fossil fuels and towards renewable green energy sources. Similarly with stem cell research i think the potential medical benefits of mastering stem cell therapies is just too big.
