Everyday the world’s oceans continue to become a universal junkyard. Marine pollution continues to grow exponentially on the one resource that separates us from the rest of the universe. On land, there is a different problem. Hundreds of thousands of people go to bed every night without food. We not only want to fix both of these issues, we need to. BlueGold is our non-profit organization that helps homeless people living near coastal cities receive food while collecting trash from the beach. Our goal is to not only clean up the ocean, but also help feed those who go hungry due to monetary incapabilities. Thus, we are able to tackle two ongoing problems in the world today, hunger and marine pollution.

Food waste is a serious problem. It not only wastes money but also causes some environmental problems, such as pollution and rats. However, many people do not realize the problem now. Considering that food waste is troubling, it is important to initiate a movement to motivate residents to reduce food waste, and the movement can be carried out through reeducatice and facilitative strategies.

We live in a complex, unpredictable world, filled with an array of family styles and personalities. Whether or not we recognize it, the family in which one is raised or currently resides plays a pivotal role in their development and opportunities. While we should not blame our circumstance on where we came from, it is crucial that we understand how our childhood influences why we are the way we are. One phenomenon that affects several families, particularly ones with low-income, is parentification. Parentification, also known as the role-reversal of a parent and a child, is not inherently harmful for a child, but it is important to look at the situation objectively and consider the risk-factors.
