According to a report by the CDC over 35,000 people were killed by guns in 2015. ( National Vital Statistics Reports) Over the years gun control has been a controversial topic about how to control, restrict, and ban firearms in the United States, this affects several people who fall in the middle of the gun control spectrum. Due to news and media sources who try to make headlines, people think that guns are all bad and that it would be better to get rid of them. In truth, a gun is a deadly weapon that needs little strength and experience to use; when first introduced to war, it became the deadliest weapon ever as anyone could use it. Today there are many ways for people to obtain a gun legally and illegally; it all comes down to how much money you are willing to pay and what laws you are willing to brake. Gun control laws are restricting and banning firearms preventing the citizens of the United States owning and using guns. According to gun control laws today people must have a mental state of an average law-abiding citizen to be able to buy a gun and that is the issue. The definition of an average mental state, is none existent as everyone has a complex mental state that is changing on a regular basis. One of the reasons why nothing has been done is that the support for gun control is like a spectrum.
