Overall comments Recently there have been many debates about gun control, this is because of the rise of gun violence in the US. Many Conservatives and Republicans think that guns are their right, and it is their second amendment to bear arms in order to protect themselves, claiming it is unpatriotic to change it. However, according to Scholastic, the constitution has been amended 27 times since it was written. Some of these people think the solution to gun violence is to arm teachers and fight fire with fire.
Staying one step ahead of its people and shifting towards better things that will benefit their countries. The United States 25 killing is nothing compared to the “36,000 Americans who were victims of firearm-related deaths in 2015 alone”. If these numbers are scary then imagine what they look like today with the increased mass shootings, and easy access to such weapons. If this isn’t waking America up and making them aware that things must change then nothing
Regulating guns will not stop all of the killings that are occurring in America, and there are better ways to cease the killings than regulating guns. Body Paragraph One: Topic Sentence: Regulating mental health will be more effective in ceasing killings with guns than regulating guns. In an analysis provided, 22 percent of the perpetrators of 235 mass killing, could be considered mentally ill, many of which were carried out with firearms (Qui). Almost 25% of mass shooting killers are being considered mentally ill
In recent years there has been a big debate when it comes to the topic of gun safety. This issue isn’t just a problem in the Illinois or the U.S. but in many different places around the world. The main arguments revolve around the best way to reduce the high number of gun violence and accidental injuries caused by guns in the United States. The main issue I will discuss is not just gun safety, but more specifically a better solution to keeping kids more safe from guns. The big question people have the most opinions about is, should kids be taught gun safety at a young age, and will that help reduce the number of injuries and deaths in children due to playing with firearms.(ProQuest Staff)
In our country we tend to blame our mass shootings and homicides on guns, but without a human behind it guns are harmless. Instead of banning these firearms all together, which may only cause an uprising in illegally owning guns, why don’t we strengthen our gun control laws? By banning people the right to carry and own a gun, we are restricting them of their basic rights. If we increase background checks, insist on mandatory classes and shooting practice, requiring safe and secure gun storage, and engaging in legal and responsible gun dealers.
Guns also save more lives than they take. Over our recent history, there have been heroes that have stopped mass shootings and other crimes from happening by stopping the situation using a firearm. There have been recent calls for more gun control and even the possibility of banning guns, these propositions have already been tried elsewhere and didn’t work. Finally, it would be totally unconstitutional for gun right to be taken away from the people. I am writing this paper to DEFEND Gun rights for Americans and why all the “gun control” propositions are ludicrous.
Gun control has been a heated debate for several decades, recently, the discussion surrounding this matter has intensified. The argument seems to be divided into liberal and conservative views, thoughts, and values. A majority of liberals desire stricter gun laws, required mental health check-ups, and longer waiting periods when it comes to purchasing a gun. However, the general census among the Republicans is less governmental interference because they feel that there is already too much governmental control involved. The Republican Party often does not want stricter gun laws because the problem at hand is not the gun itself, but the individual wielding the gun.
Loopholes are another part of this grand argument, used by the side opposed to gun control, saying that loopholes are impossible to close, while the pro gun control side argues that stricter gun control and background checks make these loopholes not an issue. Both sides can be easily argued, but there is only one side that can save countless lives. Stricter gun control will work to pr otect citizens by limiting gun violence, keeping Second Amendment rights, and closing gun loopholes. Gun control and background checks go hand in hand, as background checks act as an aid to enforce safety. Background checks significantly curb gun
Consistently, guns have been misused by the citizens there should be law where everyone can keep the rights to firearm but still safe for others. Political and federal needs to come together and agree to set laws and rules on gun control. In today 's news, we have watched mass events occur and don 't have full information, but sadly it was used by guns. In other words, many issues involve guns, such as racisms, safety, mental illness, and not enough knowledge on gun rights. However, gun control is only a concern when some mass shootings happens such as: school shootings, airports, clubs, hotels, churches, malls, etc.
Many people oppose or agree for many reasons dealing with the Second with what Gun Control is. Although most people can say they understand what gun control actually is, some people can not. Gun control is an effort to strengthen laws to restrict firearms (Zimring 440). These laws aim to reduce the criminal use of guns (Zimring 440). Gun control decisions
Today’s politicians have it all wrong when it comes to the gun control battle, and the fight to ban gun access across America. America as a country owns more firearms than any other country in the world. Currently people in the United States feel that their second amendment rights do not hold the weight that they used to . Washington believes the violence comes from the guns; however, it takes a human being to pull the trigger. That is the same as saying the car killed the man and not the drunk driver inside.
Since the begining of America, the Founding Fathers wrote the strong-standing Bill of Rights with amendments to protect the country that had just recently won their freedom, but one amendment has been the top theme of controversies for centuries. Gun laws offend the Bill of Rights in so many ways and they prove ineffective. Gun Laws are relevant due to thousands of deaths and self-protection. The argument goes on but without guns there is militia, one of the main intents of the Second Amendment. These simple rules can reduce deaths, proven by millions of influential people.
Where the weapons were obtained in the sandy hook shooting and the Orlando shooting were dramatically different. Lanza took the weapons from his mother who owned them legally, but Lanza was unable to have firearms because of his mental illness. Mateen was cleared by the federal background check even though the FBI did some monitoring on him. His radical beliefs caught the eye of the federal government, but someone 's religion can not be used to stip individuals of their rights. Lastly he explains that, “cultural beliefs are significantly related to people’s opinions about gun control, but the strongest, most consistent predictors of people’s gun control preferences are their political beliefs and affiliations,” (Wozniak 2).
Gun control versus gun right’s has been the most controversial topic in the United States, especially for the past (5) five years. It has been said that gun control violates a citizen’s right to bear arms. Although, many citizens see gun control as a violation of their rights, guns still is the cause of innocent Americans killed for not having tougher gun control laws establish. Gun control in America is not the particular problem in America, but it is the number one cause of needless crimes today. This assignment is not to point fingers on which side is right, but this assignment is to come to common grounds to enforce safety for our society from needless gun violence.
Making background checks stronger will make sure that the mentally ill and people who are angry don 't get guns. This will bring down shooting rates because if there is nobody that can get a gun with the intent to hurt someone else, there will be nobody to pull the trigger at an innocent person. If we just abolished the 2nd amendment and made guns illegal, that would cause people to riot and anger many people around the country, and if we don 't do anything then things will stay the same and shootings will
