The recent devastation we see everyday involving guns are forcing us to consider change. Shootings have reached horrifically high fatalities and the constant debilitation these attacks have on our nation is no way to preserve it. Despite the potential drawbacks of increasing gun technology, it is essential to do so in order to sustain the lives of citizens in our country.
The technology we all used to use has become quite obsolete, and for good reason. We now have advancements that work better, are safer, and more sustainable. There is no comprehensible way we could have built the lives we all have today without these technological advancements. So why is it that guns haven’t changed yet? Some may say they have with the Gun Control Safety

However, we are still putting a weapon in someone 's hand. Instead of taking everyone 's guns away, what would happen if we implemented technology in guns. Something as simple as a ring recognition system (where your gun will only be able to shoot if the ring is near the gun) or fingerprint scanner could help solve our gun problems. It’s incredibly possible to utilize this technology, with fingerprint scanners on our phones that we use everyday, it makes sense to do something similar. With some kind of identifiable object registered to one person, it prevents someone else from ever operating it. With this system in place, it would be easy to log when someone is moving the location of a gun, loading a gun or firing a gun. If your gun was only to be used in emergency situations, this could effortlessly send a police officer to your house to make sure everything is alright. But like any new system, there is potential risks to this design. People want privacy, and don 't want everyone to know their whereabouts all the time, but phones already do that. It is also nearly impossible to collect all 325 million guns and implement this on those guns. This technology won 't fix everything. There is no one solution to fix everything. But this technology might fix something, if it
Absolutely there needs to be some control, and no doubt more stringent regulations to own and conduct a gun than we bear today, but taking weapons out from us all together would be a catastrophe! The crime rates here in the United States have been on the rise for years and though we need to do something about it and fast, gun control is not the mere result. The matter that we need to understand is that, crime always has been and forever will be a piece of every company and it will increase as population increases. That much would be inevitable.
We still have firearms, but they are exponentially more dangerous. Some of the most advanced and legal firearms today are rifles that can shoot 30 bullets in 3 seconds. Those bullets can also sometimes go through metal and even armor. I know a man who even has a rifle that could make a hole in a tank. There are some benefits of the evolution of firearms, for example the speed of the projectile and the projectile itself.
There would be no reason in making a stricter access to guns for the public, criminals would not abide to the laws of ownership if they are going to commit a
Moreover, this leads to an easier way to kill people since they only need to pull the trigger. As a
‘’Guns are responsible for over thirty-three thousand deaths in the United States annually, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).. In 2014, the CDC reported that 11,008 of the 15,872 homicides committed in the United States that year involved a firearm. Of the 42,826 suicides reported that year, 21,386 involved a firearm. These statistics have inspired efforts at the federal and state levels to enact gun control legislation to reduce crime and violence’’(‘’Gun Control’’). According to the statistic guns are held for over 33,000 deaths in the United States.
Mental Health is a bigger issue than guns, and mental health will be regulated and not guns if the authority and the government want killings to stop occurring. Taking away guns will not stop killings with guns. People will find other ways to kill people, because people if they want to kill, will kill. Some argue that the guns need to be taken away because guns take away Innocent people’s lives. However, the real reason people are killed by guns is that of the people using the gun.
Another, law could be to implement mental health screenings to detect any mental illnesses with the future gun holder, that would be most useful, because it is essential to know the mental state of a future gun holder. Lastly, regulating illegal gun sales would also help, along with gun safety and protection. In today’s society, there are gun laws and specific things that must be done, to be able to own a handgun or assault rifle. For example, there is an age limit that differs in some states, those age limits are eighteen years old in some states and twenty-one in other states.
A weapon in the wrongs hands is the maximum danger humanity can face. Nowadays, violence and delinquency in society are viewed as the maximum problem solver. Humanity is full of chaos; hate and envy seize our souls. Guns are the ultimate security for some citizens but for others, these add to a feeling of defenselessness. Throughout history, any topic related to guns means a plethora of problems.
In the past, the major gun control legislations that have been put into effect have not stopped people from obtaining firearms (Gun Control.) There have also been cases in the past where cities have attempted to ban handguns. After the ban was put into effect, murder rates tended to rise instead of drop, unlike what most people might assume. Crime rates and violence also skyrocketed after the bans were put into effect. Another problem with taking guns away, or banning them, is that the government cannot expect everyone to abide by the laws.
Alexis Clarke Professor Frank English 110 29 October 2015 Gun Control Will Not Eliminate Crime The big issue of gun control in the United States, is that many people believe that it takes away the 2nd Amendment rights, which is the right to bear arms. Citizens of the United States are promised the the right to bear arms in the Constitution, and by applying gun control laws takes away that same right. Crime is high enough in cities with very few laws pertaining to gun control, but taking guns away from people who are registered with license will not solve the problem either. Placing more limitations on gun owners, particularly responsible gun owners, will not reduce gun violence.
Gun control also limits our constitutionally derived right to own firearms. If gun control is enforced, law-abiding citizens will be forced to give up their guns and their right to own guns, while many criminals who own guns may illegally keep theirs. As the saying goes “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” Guns are an important aspect of our society in many ways. They allow for protection, recreation, and hunting.
Thus, I recognized that gun ownership is a serious social problem. This problem surely threatens ordinary people’s lives in the United States. To handle this problem, I did some research about the
Gun Control On February 14, 2018 seventeen innocent people were shot and killed at a school in Parkland Florida. The shooter being over the age of eighteen, legally purchased the gun that caused this massacre, back in February of 2017. The federal law states, anyone with a clean criminal record over the age of eighteen can legally purchase a gun. This brings people to wonder, is our gun control enough?
Everyday in the United States, ninety families are changed forever; guns claim an average of ninety lives every day in the United States, 33,000 lives in a single year. Gun control has been a debate in the United States for many years and is constantly thrusted back into the public’s attention by horrific shootings. These shootings constantly cause individuals to petition the government to place stricter and stricter regulations of guns. However, these policies cannot be the solution to this problem. To determine a solution that will be both effective and constitutional, we must look at statistics and research that has been conducted to determine the best course of action.
Due to the constantly changing preferences of our customers, we must continue to learn about as many weapons as possible to include antique and high-end items. Some customers want the antique or high-end weapons for status while others just enjoy shooting the weapon. Like myself, some customers may enjoy the stylish look, power, feel and old memories of a certain weapon. My Remington 700 reminds me of Sniper School and my MP5 reminds me of shooting in Germany before a mission. Whatever reason a weapon owner has, some weapon owners have chosen to invest in the English Double Shotgun.
