Gun Rights in the United States The National Rifle Association is working day after day to make the world with guns in it a safer place. However, many People feel that day will never come. They are working on taking guns away from Americans altogether.
This makes us wonder why people can be so defensive over something like a gun that is so dangerous and has lead to a lot of deaths in the American society. Gun control is essential in our society today because it will help prevent unnecessary shootings and crime rate Gun control will play a major part in the decrease of the crime and murder rate. Therefore, in my point of view, guns should be totally controlled and regulated by the government. If gun ownership is controlled by the government, only a limited number of people will be allowed to own guns. In addition, the regulations will make it difficult for people to access guns unless they have a concrete reason as to why they need the weapon.
In the midst of such hardships like the Sandy Hook and Aroura Shootings and recently the tragedy in Orlando, gun control has become one of the most controversial topics in our society. Many use the fact of the second amendment that American citizens have the right to bear arms to support the debate on both sides. The ones who are in
Guns also influence more gang violence. If you go visit the getto side many carry a gun with them. For their own sake because how wants to die. Many who carry guns are also apart of gangs they have it with them to get ready if they are going to get kill or jumped by people.
I think it is clear that America’s lenient Gun Laws have no doubt been a huge factor on the staggering amount of gun violence for a long time. I do believe, however, in people’s rights to defend and arm themselves, it is part of their constitution, I just feel that it is necessary that the laws regarding the 2nd amendment need to be reinforced and should introduce some restrictions to ensure that only the people who are mentally capable of wielding a firearm, without causing harm to society, should be allowed to acquire one. I do also recognise that there are already a staggering number of guns in the possession of the general public, and I feel that the only way to tackle this issue is cultural change in America, changing the views of individuals on the idea of guns, but change is always
There are many facts to prove and disprove both sides. In the end, it is a personal choice where we stand on this topic. Our views about gun control stem from our involvement and knowledge of firearms and how they are used. It is hard for even the most opinionated of individuals to argue against firearms when they spend some time witnessing first hand the enjoyment of use firearms
According to the Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, the CDC state there are approximately 30,000 individuals killed by guns each year across America, which includes those killed by accident, suicide, or homicide (Gun Control). In addition to the vast amount of people killed by guns each year, there are also numerous gun related incidents that occur each day that don’t result in death. Due to the frequency of these occurrences, Democrats call for stricter gun control. To lower the amount of gun related incidents the Democrats want a more intensive background check before a firearm can be purchased.
"’Make no mistake -- they 're coming for our guns. And we freedom-loving gun lovers are totally defenseless! Other than, you know, the guns’ -Stephen Colbert” (Kurtzman 1). There are as many people who advocate for pro gun laws as the people who are opposed, which is the reason why gun control has become one of the most controversial topics as of right now. America is truly split between those who advocate for gun control and those who are opposed.
I also think that handling a gun can tempt someone to do something bad. This further demonstrates that opponents say that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to own guns; that guns are needed for self-defense from threats ranging from local criminals to foreign invaders; and that gun ownership deters crime rather than causes more crime. On washington post it has many information about handling guns. This shows that some people think handling a gun makes them feel safe. Some people also think that handling a gun can make a kid do something bad with it.
“A study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that "legal purchase of a handgun appears to be associated with a long-lasting increased risk of violent death"(-https://gun-control.procon.org/). There is such a thing as an unlicensed dealer selling handguns without a background check and proper documentation and it is legal. Those gun buyers are mainly causing chaos with mass shootings and yet others think the Second Amendment defends the right to own a weapon for “self-defense”. It is time for tougher gun control laws; the safety of the citizens depends on a safe environment free of guns from those using them for villainous purposes such as mass shootings or homicides.
Most gun owners have guns as protection for themselves and for their families. One of the most prominent arguments for to pro gun ownership side is that guns are protection from a seemingly increasingly violent world. Also “...having guns gives [people] and least a fighting chance in the event of a burglar or home invader manages to get in. ”(safewise.com). The second amendment gives people the right to own and use guns and is “...an undeniable personal freedom guaranteed by the constitution.”(openreader.org).
I’m against gun control because I like shooting guns. I wish gun owners weren 't limited to their selection. Because there is a law called 2nd amendment that says that you have the right to bear arms. There are a lot of people that live in america and are scared of guns and don 't like it, I think part of the reason is because the image people bring to when thought of guns, protection and hunting should be the only reason why a gun should be fired. In the United States of America, there is something called second amendment , it gives you the right to own a gun and protect and arm yourself if things went south they would have a chance.
The thing that people don 't understand is that, yes gun owners want to take advantage of this open carry law, but most people that have their license will still conceal their weapons as they don 't want the attention. Most say that when the heat, calms down on all the law changing that they might be more comfortable with open carrying so it’s more of a usual thing to be around. Now gun carriers know all the risk of having their guns visible. Most of the instructors that teach the classes tell them that showing your gun can possibly make you the first target in a situation. Having an open carry they know that it could backfire on them.
Since the begining of America, the Founding Fathers wrote the strong-standing Bill of Rights with amendments to protect the country that had just recently won their freedom, but one amendment has been the top theme of controversies for centuries. Gun laws offend the Bill of Rights in so many ways and they prove ineffective. Gun Laws are relevant due to thousands of deaths and self-protection. The argument goes on but without guns there is militia, one of the main intents of the Second Amendment. These simple rules can reduce deaths, proven by millions of influential people.
There are about two hundred million gun owners in this country and only a tiny fraction of gun owners commit crimes. Gun violence is only a major issue on television because of all the
