Humping Hose Are you good at humping hose? Well if your not so good or your a professional at humping hose you will learn about my experience at learning how to hump hose. I could get detailed and tell you about laying hose and manning the boat but since this is about me learning how to hump hose I will not. When I first started humping I was extremely nervous and quite frankly a little bit scared but I had some very good friends there to talk me through it. It was a bright and shiny day which is surprising because usually when we get going it is always dark. It was this last Fall when we were still out pumping material at the George Dairy. I was humping hose for CharlieS also known as Steve when I started to learn. The conversation went like “Payton since Roadgear also known as Riley or CharlieR is not around can you hump for me?” Said CharlieS. Well I would rather do it when Roadgear is here to teach me, I replied. Oh it is easy I will talk you through it and it was less of a question and more of a command than anything. Plus we went through plenty of menders when we were training Riley so do not feel bad,” explained CharlieS. On my second time humping hose I was more worried about the fact that I was close to a house out in the country and it had the possibility to break and make a bigger mess than it already is making with just the drag bars. After I successfully humped that length of hose for CharlieW also known as W I went over and hooked up a new hose for CharlieS. It was supposed to be nice and easy since we do not have to pinch the hoses to put a new one on. We solved this problem when we made the Y pump. The Y pump has one in and two outs which all have hydraulic gates and can be controlled
