This shows that illegal fishing is not effecting the fish only it is also affecting other sea creatures such as coral reefs. The fishers that are practicing illegal fishing use tools and materials such as dynamite that are banned by the government to make it easy for them to get more fish in a short time . There are a lot of people who are living in the islands of Malaysia are suffering from the effects of using the tools that are destroying the coral reefs so they stablished Voluntary groups aimed at protecting the sea from illegal fishing ( taking care of the ocean environment, 2014).in addition, practicing illegal fishing increases the number of the endangered fish. The Fishers are ignoring the laws and they are fishing the fish in their breeding season, which causes a very big problem and very sharp decline in number of different kinds of fish (Moger, 2016) . As a result The kinds of fish that are endangered because of this phenomenon are tuna, Dark grouper and hake( taking care of the ocean environment, 2014) .
146 orcas have died in captivity, and 48 of those orcas have died at SeaWorld. The average person believes that orcas, also known as killer whales, are in captivity for their own well being, or to research their species, but that is false. Killer whales are tortured to do our bidding, for other people's entertainment and greediness. The orca trainers limit their food rations so that they become hungry enough to want the “food treat” after they do the tricks that are force upon them. Orcas do not belong in captivity, they belong in the ocean not in a tank.
This also has a big part of why salmon are going extinct. ("Sockeye Salmon" 2017) In order to save the salmon people are needing to let nature take its course by letting the rivers flow free to take down the dams and, minimize the amount breeding in the fish hatcheries. People have had too big of an effect on salmon by building dams, causing climate change, and straightening rivers. The human effort alone is causing the population and size of salmon to decrease. ("Salmon Information, Facts, and Photos") This decrease is causing a lack of nutrients in the water and forests.
Plastic contains petroleum products therefore it does not biodegrade. The disposable plastic such as plastic straws, plastic bags and plastic bottles and caps ends up in the oceans. Many different kinds of plastic go into the oceans. They cut into smaller and smaller toxic pieces that kill seabirds and marine creatures like whales, gull and sea turtles when they accidentally ingest them. Every year above one million seabird and 100,000 marine mammals die as a result of plastic ingestion or entanglement.
Can you imagine a world where pets don't exist? Where you can only find animals in labs for scientific reason? Animal testing is when scientist test products on animal for research. Also as well as it is harmful it is also ineffective because animals don't get any of the severe diseases that humans do (such as forms of cancer) so the symptoms are artificially put in these animals. Animal testing is not a reliable way to test medicines, animal testing is wasteful and dangerous, and above all animals are not like us.
On november 10, 2015 the European Union Fishery Council ruled against bottom trawling advocates and banned bottom trawling below 800 meters in european waters(European Council). Claire Nouvian from the Deep Sea Conservation Coalition (DSSC) and partner with bloom association said “Over 300 scientists and hundreds of thousands of EU citizens have urged an end to damaging deep-sea bottom trawling. Significant sectors of the fishing industry have accepted an 800-metre limit”. This is a small but significant step towards re building fish
Why i think we all should recycle is really because of the animals. I know I am not innocint my self when it comes to littering. Though over the world there is an animla getting stuck into a soda can plastic ring or dieing off because of the popution. The plastic would get aroud a brieds neck for a example they could choke of it would dig in the skin like a rope could give a burns o your hand if you try to get out. Also people trowing plastic bags and trash in the water are leading out into the middle of the ocean.
In “Your Favorite Body Wash Might Be a Serious Danger to the Environment and Your Health,” Milliken explains that the presence of microbeads in sea life is able to cause EDCS (Endocrine disrupting chemicals), heart disease and even diabetes. It means if humans continue to taint waterways with microbeads, sooner or later humans would have to eat those poisoned seafood and pay for the price. After microbeads get washed into the drain, the only protection we have left to ensure the quality of the water is sewage treatment. Nevertheless, due to the size of microbeads, our strategies and techniques are not able to capture the microbeads because they are too small for the filter to flit them out (Five Gyres.org). Hence, we are not yet able to stop microbeads from drifting into the ocean.
Humans have neglected them and turned to negative actions such as over fishing, unethical fishing activities or irresponsible performances towards the corals for their own survival when coral reefs could raise job opportunities and increase economic stability. They also cure severe sicknesses. Luckily, there are still ways for us to fix the destruction that us humans did to our own world. The easiest thing to do is spread the word and if possible, create an organization. Science is also applied to the transplantation of corals that could potentially change the habitat’s
It is thought that 100,000 marine creatures die a year from plastic entanglement, most of these being birds who get their beaks or feet caught in plastic, or swallowing bits of plastic that look like sea creatures i.e. jellyfish or octopus. 700 suspected animal species will go extinct by the year 2020, and over 90% of ALL seabirds have pieces of plastic in their stomach… (Source of Info: Greenpeace and Plastic Oceans and UC Santa Barbara) However, these statistics aren’t as bad as other types of pollution such as global warming which kills roughly 150,000 per year as opposed to 100k. Does this mean we should focus more on bigger problems such as global warming? Although much research is being done into preventing both, I still think that plastic is the biggest problem of all since the Earth is 90% water, and as humans we rely mostly on water to live.
