In today’s media, women’s ideal beauty has been portrayed to be slim, perfect facial structure, and symmetrical body measurement. Society has project women to look this beautiful led them to believe that for them to be happy and beautiful they must meet up to those standards. This has led to women to use plastic surgery. Some have said that it is good for women to do plastic surgery, but it always has a consequence and there have been major cases where surgery has gone the wrong way. In what manner can a woman feel secure to have to modify their body to feel beautiful some cases have caused death. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Americans have spent over $11 billion in surgical procedures. Society has programmed the mind of a young girl to look a certain way such as the toy Barbie doll with the ideal body and face, models, and even in Hollywood movies portray a beautiful girl. Reported by west lake dermatology, the average national cost of popular plastic surgery procedures ranges from $100 to $50,000. The most common surgeries are: breast augmentation, eyelid surgery, facelift, liposuction, body lift, and tummy tuck and these are just some surgeries nevertheless there are more. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery reported that between 2002 and 2003, the number of women and girls younger than 18 who got breast implants nearly tripled, from 3,872 to 11,326.
