The Amazon Rainforest is the world's greatest natural resource and wWorld’s largest tropical rainforest, yet still it is being destroyed just like other rainforests around the world everyday. If we destroy the forest we are destroying ourselves. The Amazon Rainforest is a home to half of the world’s species (citation needed). There are also many native tribes that live in the rainforest. Native tribes that live in the Amazon Rainforest face disasters in their everyday life.
Only some of these solutions have worked, many have been unsuccessful. One solution to deforestation is reforestation. Reforestation is the process of planting a lot of new trees to make up for the ones cut down. Alive trees will reduce the buildup of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The trees will also contribute to new wildlife habitats, restore water cycles, and rebuild carbon storage.
The loss of land is also due to mining as well creating another source of income in South America. Although deforestation is a popular way of means, the effects of it are long lasting. Deforestation leads to issues in South America such as mudslides, loss of virgin forests, loss of habitats, and the loss of homelands. Without trees to secure fertile soil, erosion occurs and sweeps the land turning it into rivers. It is estimated that one third of the world’s farmable land has
According to the World Wildlife Fund, approximately twenty-seven soccer fields worth of trees are cut down per minute (Hook). Deforestation is a major environmental problem occurring all over the world. Trees are being cut down constantly for a number of reasons, which is greatly harming the environment. Deforestation is causing more and more problems in the world such as, global warming and loss of habitat. Trees are being cut down at a very fast rate and we need to do something about it before it is too late.
One and a half acres of forest is cut down per second for our own needs. If the current rate of deforestation continues then it won 't take long before we destroy all rain forests on earth. The reasons for deforestation in the Amazon include agriculture, Cattle ranching, logging, mining, oil companies, and dams. There are over 121 different natural remedies that can be found in the rain forest that could be used as medicines. Not only do we use the rain forests for products and land space but we also get oxygen out of it.
The forests always had occasional fires for as long as there had been a forest, but the frequency and the severity of man-made fires resulted in a negative environmental impact as well as social discontent over forest depletion. Large scale fires result in a loss of topsoil. The hot temperatures reached in large fires burns away the topsoil and organic material in the soil that is vital to the health of the forest. Less vegetation as a result of forest fires doubles the amount of runoff flowing into mountain streams, and increases the speed at which snow melts and fills streams. Effects such as these can have unpredictable effects on the environment.
Although cattle ranching is necessary there are some bad effects. Seventy percent of animals on earth live in forest so their lives and species are being endangered due to deforestation and the loss of trees increases carbon dioxide in the air. Although deforestation is a problem it is shown in document C that the Brazilian government is trying to fix their mistakes. In 1980, 80% of the deforested land was used for agricultural services (cattle ranching, logging, and large and small scale agriculture Doc C.) In ten more years only 60% of the land was used for agricultural services, so this shows the deforestation problem is working on getting
A Research Proposal On Analysing The Positive and Negative Impacts of Deforestation in Malaysia. 1.0 Introduction & Purpose Deforestation is the activity of clearing the woodland or open space, generally to expand the use of farming land or wood harvesting (Dudley 2014). This activity has been going on for many years but the government does not think it is a major problem in Malaysia. Nonetheless, deforestation has brought both benefits and losses to the people. Thus, the purpose of this report is to analyse the positive and negative impacts of deforestation in Malaysia.
They impact The combination of selective logging and wildfire damage turns these once lush rainforests into measly scrubs of smaller trees and vines, which stores 40 percent less carbon than undisturbed forests. It’s important because if the 40% keeps growing more and more every year then the time we know it the rainforest will be gone. Loggers don’t just cut down trees they also make roads in the rainforest, also they also clear areas for farmers and cattle ranchers, which needs a lot of land to feed lots of cows and plants that need space because of their roots. When loggers cut down trees what will happens to all the animals that live in the trees? The animals will have to find a new home in the rainforest, but then what will happen when all the trees are gone?
With the need for more animal pastures, and grazing land deforestation is occurring globally. To keep a factory farm running the use of fossil fuels to run machinery, and heat barns during the winter months causes even more pollution to the environment. This magazine provides an ample amount of information to prove that factory farming is damaging the environments in many ways, and regulations need to be put in place.
