Summer Vacation Spots Let’s take a look at what are rated as the best summer vacation spots in Europe. For those of you who don’t like particularly hot weather a trip in the summer to Europe can be a treat because the weather is usually warm but not hot. Living in northern Europe in Latvia I can tell you that summer weather here is not hot enough for me. I’m the one who walks about smiling when we do get temperatures in the 80s because that is what I love while everyone else feels like they’re wilting. The first and top summer vacation spot is Iceland. This country offers visitors spectacular natural delights such as rainbow-arched waterfalls coming down mountains that have snowcapped peaks. There is a great mix of traditional and modern. Bavaria has impressive Baroque palaces while Hamburg has the amazing, redeveloped HafenCity. It is most interesting to explore and is located on the Elbe River islands. There are historic places such as the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. All throughout the country there is much to see and delight in. You can take river cruises on the Rhine and visit wine-making country for a taste of German wine. Visit sunny Spain with its plazas full of cafes, flamenco dancers, hillside villages and huge cathedrals. There are great art museums, delicious cuisine and vibrant nightlife. You can explore the country from the Pyrenees to the coast where you can bask in the sun on the beaches. Rub elbows with the residents who love to live life to the fullest. Italy has much to offer visitors from northern Italy through the country to the south including the wonderful islands of Sardinia and Sicily. There are historical ruins and most inspiring art and architecture. They have great food and wine. Explore Italy’s olive groves and vineyards, the crystal clear waters of Lake Como and the Mediterranean coast. See large monasteries, castles and farmhouses. There are many different cities to explore such as Rome, Florence and Milan. These are just some places that you can choose to visit. Besides some of the top spots mentioned I would also suggest the beaches of the Bulgarian Black Sea
