So, they can improve the odds of adolescents getting sufficient sleep so they can thrive both physically and academically. I agree with this source, starting schools later could enhance student’s school performance academically and athletically. Starting school too early are preventing many teenagers from getting the sleep they need to start off their day. I aim to using this this source to support my claim as to why students need more sleep and how it would affect them throughout the school day. This will benefit my essay by forward explaining why school should start later in the morning and why doing this will be better for the students’
Teachers will be able to have more time to prepare for the days’ lesson as well. Changing start time until later may be a waste of time, but it’s more of a waste of time if school starts too early. Changing start time could end up being tough, however it is proven to benefit both the teachers and students. Altering the time will make sure the kids get a great night’s sleep, and also the teachers. This will create a better environment for the schools and keep them awake.
I agree with starting school a later time in the morning because it will benefit the students by functioning properly in school and it will prevents car accidents. On the other hand, other people disagree with my argument because they argued that kids need to go to bed earlier. My first reason why school should start at a later time, is that kid will perform and function better in school. Having to get up at 6am in the morning to get ready for school can be very stressful.
More sleep will cause the kids to be more awake and aware in classes and so they can focus on their studies instead of focusing on trying to stay awake because they didn’t get enough sleep. In paragraph 4 it states,”Negative effects of sleep loss include impairments in mood, attention, memory, behavior and executive function.” This shows how kids in school with lack of sleep are really affected by this and will cause them to lose focus on their studies. In all, school is just better later.
Starting Schools Later Most student would agree that more sleep is better. Some students say that they feel way more energetic and can concentrate more if they got enough sleep. Do you feel any different from getting enough sleep? High schools have moved over to a later start because of the benefits of getting enough sleep. If schools switch to a later start time students will have the chance to get more sleep.
Also in the article it says “The research shows, for example, that middle- and high-school benefit more from sleeping late than younger students.” This is saying maybe middle school and up is good to go to sleep later at night. So maybe they can let the little kids (elementary schools) should go to school later, because there practices won’t be as long; however, I still think that we should stay the same time. Also like I said your parents probably go early in the morning and don’t come back till the
Teenagers need many hours of sleep for them to be productive during the school day. By waking teens up as early as 5:30 in the morning just so they can get ready for school and be there on time is crazy. There are many different reasons schools should not be starting this early including bad grades, health issues or even injuries. By starting school so early in the morning teenagers aren't getting the eight to nine hours of sleep they need to function correctly during the school day. Having a later start time would be beneficial in more than one way.
Lots of people may disagree with the idea of us starting school later and say the school hours are just fine. They may come up with reasons like if we give the children too much time to sleep, they may gain too much energy and overtake the school. If that’s the case then schools need to make and enforce strict rules to keep their children under control, so that they don’t act out. They may also have a problem if we change the school dismissal time, because students already have dismissal plans that work. But then parents shall find an alternative way to get their children home that comprehends with the school’s schedule.
This means that going to bed early does not necessarily mean that it gives a better sleep. This is why schools should start later as it helps students greatly and allows for better performance from both the awake students and the staff. Many first hour classes are not as focused or aware as other hours and that causes that class to suffer more than others. This is why I believe schools should start
Most districts already have staggered start times for the schools and they report that delaying the high school start time would have a domino effect on all the schools which would become a disaster. Teens may be more likely to get the recommended amount of sleep. A delayed start time could help teens sleep during their natural sleep/wake cycles. Teens may be less likely to depend on caffeine to stay awake during the day. Sleeping longer could reduce health-related issues that accompany sleep deprivation.
School starting later is better for athletes because they will get more sleep and have a better chance of not getting hurt. In addition, more teens will crash because they 're tired and fall asleep while driving. When it is morning kids have a higher risks of crashing because it is dark sometimes and you can not see well. When we start later in the day kids will not be mad
If the schools started later in the day absences would drop. Students being late is a big problem in their grades. Kids wake up early in the morning because sometimes their schools start early. When they wake up early in the morning their body still says that it is time to sleep. If we have classes that are later than kids will attend school more and get more sleep.
In a recent survey, over 76% of high school students said that they usually get seven hours of sleep a night. Considering workloads and school start times, a majority of the 76% claim that there is nothing they can do to acquire more sleep each night. Lack of sleep has become a problem for teenagers statewide, and it is completely out of their control. The majority of high schools in Michigan start classes before 8:00 a.m. Some people believe this is too early for students to start learning.
Less kids will miss school because some kids will miss school when they don’t get enough sleep, and kids will be able to get a little more than 8 hours sleep so they won’t face slew problems, and kids can get to school on time. Kids can pay attention in class. Kids can focus, and get better grades.
School Should Start Later A recent poll conducted by the National Sleep Foundation found that 60% of children under the age of 18 complained of being tired during the day, according to their parents, and 15% said they fell asleep at school during the year. This proves that kids aren’t getting enough sleep before school. I believe that a later middle school start time would have many beneficial effects on kids. As a result, kids would be more focused in class because they would be getting more sleep, that would lead to better grades, and finally reduced absenteeism.
