L i t e r a r y E s s a y The passages “Susan B Anthony Dares to Vote” and “Don’t Give Up the Fight” share a common theme of hard work. In both of these passages, the characters work hard to achieve a goal. In “Susan B Anthony Dares to Vote,” Susan B Anthony’s goal is to earn United States women the right to vote.
When it comes to competitive cheer, there is a lot more than yelling chants. Cheerleading requires sharp/quick motions, strength, along with perfect timing. Cheerleaders have to have the ability to throw 100+ pound girls in the air and be able to catch them. In conclusion, cheerleading is dangerous, competitive, and takes time and dedication. These are all the components of what society considers a “true sport.”
To begin with she is a good sport is that she doesn't give up and even when she is bad at stuff like running. In the story it states “No matter how much she tried, she couldn't run as fast as the other girls” Lupe tries her best and doesn't do good. I bet some of the other kids make fun of her because she isn't as good as them or that she scored a ball in the other team’s goal. Lupe doesn't let that stuff get to her, she works harder. In addition to that she practices for hours, doing push-ups, squeezing erasers and shooting marbles.
Do you ever have a hard time being determined and never giving up? In the short story called “Marble Champ”, written By: Gary Soto, Lupe has to be very determined to reach her goal of being good at the sport marbles. What the famous Michael Jordan said is: “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But, I can’t accept not trying .”

Cheerleading can not be done by one person, but with the help of several athletes. School cheerleading is also done to show sportsmanship and spirit. Cheerleaders are a reflection of their school, and must act like it. I promise to always represet the school in a positive way and to always show righteousness to each an every athlete. Cheerleading is not always seen as a “sport” by everyone.
Everyone wants to be a leader in something, weather it’s in sports or even group projects, but being a leader can be very difficult and it takes a lot of skill. In the story “The Marble Champ” by Gary Soto is about a girl named Lupe who wants to win a marble championship at her school even though she is more smart than athletic. Lupe is a leader because she is very smart, a hard worker, and determined. One reason that Lupe is a leader is because she is very smart.
It is up to the woman herself to decide whether she is bothered by the contact in the sport. It is up to the woman to compete and put her skating and talent on the line against any other person, be it man or woman. If she does make it against all these odds, then it is against humanity that she has competed and only on that basis can her chance be taken from her. It is clear that women have the power, strength and determination to break through this ice wall of discrimination.
Are actors and professional athletes overpaid? The film industry and professional sports are regarded to be the most profitable business sector in the present scenario. The professional artists and film actors earn millions of dollars due to their talent.many people might have had a dream to be popular and earn more like they do. Despite the fact that their profession is not an easy job that could be done by common people, they are more prone to criticism resulting from their overpaid work. However, the perception on whether the professional artists and actors are overpaid or not is still a matter of concern of a majority of people.
Cheerleading is spared; it’s known that the lower limb injuries, specifically the ankle, are common in cheerleading do to the landing. Also, little support that an exercise program may prevent injury. Catastrophic injuries are on the rise and suggested on rule change and updates on regulations regarding stunt and surface restrictions seem reasonable. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) was developed in 1906 to protect athletes. In 2004, demonstrated that the physical fitness of a cheerleader is similar to that of any other collegiate sport by comparing results on the various physical test.
In college, Mia Hamm learned how to possess mental and physical toughness from her coach, Anson Dorrance. Hamm briefly explains that young girls should be pushed to be the best athletes they can be. An inspirational quote I find interesting is when Hamm states, “Before you win, you must have the will to prepare the win.” I find this quote highly moving because it is very realistic, if you want to win you must mentally and physically prepare yourself for the game and have confidence.
Cheerleaders train as much or more than other sports. You still have to workout, run, and condition just as much as other sports. Being a base you need to throw your flyer and catch her in a few seconds. Misplace a hand and the flyer gets hurt. Being a flyer isn’t easy either.
Their cheerleading program is considered a Title IX sport. Despite suggestions to not consider cheerleading a sport for gender equality, they divided their program in half to better meet the requirements of being a sport under Title IX. The cheerleading team they consider a sport only competes and never cheers at games, similar to how all-star cheerleading. The cheerleaders seen at Maryland’s football and basketball games are part of a school club and are not considered part of a sport’s program. In addition to colleges recognizing cheerleading as a sport, 22 states now recognize high school cheer as a sport, including Arizona.
Being in athlete requires both talent and dedication to the sport. In 2015 Ronda Rousey was arguably the greatest women in combat sports. Ronda Rousey will still be successful entertainer 2021 because of her Judo, Mixed Martial Arts and acting.
