While students would certainly gain a substantial amount of free time compared to now if homework were to be banned, they would lose the benefits of reasonable homework assignment. A reduction of meaningless homework would be just as effective at decreasing student stress as a homework ban would be. Solving students’ current lack of free time does not elicit a strict ban, however. The solution better suited to the situation is a reduction of homework in order to drastically reduce student stress, yet still allowing them to reap the multitude of benefits which a moderate amount of daily homework provides. Additionally, with a smaller volume of work every day, teachers are more likely to budget their “homework allowance” more meaningfully.
This is a good point and it is awesome to have easy accessible grades but this only proves our laziness to put easy to read grades over meaningful and truthful ones. If the grade that you see is the true representation of the understanding and knowledge on that topic then it is definitely a worthwhile one. “Proponents argue that standardized testing is the most efficient method of assessing the performance of students and institutions and of maintaining the quality of education. ”(Standardized testing).Standardized testing may be the most proficient and the best looking test scores but that does not mean that they are the best for the students and how the teachers teach the students on the topic. These testing methods often sways teachers just to teach according to what’s going to be on the test but this is not good because there is much more understanding outside of the test.
Imagine yourself on a Friday and your just sitting in your desk, staring at the clock waiting for the bell to ring, well Cris lived it. Cris has plans for the weekend today he is going to a friend 's house and tomorrow he is going to the mall and as an early Christmas present his parents gave him two hundred dollars to spend at the mall, he just cannot wait for the weekend and then he heard this “The homework for the week will be a 5-10 thousand word essay on how The Happy Birthday song was made and it will count as a test grade.” In his mind, he feels upset and realized his weekend is ruined. Cris cannot do anything because of this homework and if it was not graded he could cancel one of his plans and not stress out about it. Students get so much homework to do in a little amount of time that it is unbelievable, they get enough work in the 7 hours of school and then you may get 7 hours of homework after school so students should not have graded homework, if homework was not graded it would be considered a formative assessment and should be treated as practice not a grade.
Mom and dad felt that their home was in New York and the kids agreed but when they asked Tootsie she said “yuck”. They all left and went back to New York
School uniforms, school uniforms have been debated among the states with tons of studies that say they help with school issues and other studies that contradict school uniforms have no significant change. In order to save money schools shouldn’t be adding more costs to school, school should be cheaper, its fundamental to all kids to learn and not for the parents to be spending more money on school uniforms especially with families on a tight budget. The issue of school uniforms has been around 1969 ever since the US Supreme Court issued a law that kids could protest if it wasn’t disruptive. Bill Clinton also supported this because he didn’t want to see kids fight over expensive clothing.
The source that supports this quote “Cash-for-grade programs may jump start students motivation by providing real world rewards…” would be greatschools.org. But undoubtedly this can be challenged because if kids went to school they would only be coming for the money not the knowledge. In any case, paying kids for good grades is not Clearly, paying students for good grades is a good idea. When considering the choice of giving kids money for good grades, the choice should be definitely obvious because if kids are happy and get good grades what more do they need. This could also allow kids to their parents with bills, and the kid can buy their own things, If this claim is not listened to then teachers, schools, and parents will eventually run out of money making them all bankrupt from paying the students.
“Yes I have. School is most important, and I should work hard to keep my grades up,” I replied. The next day my phone started ringing. It was my Grandma.
Some students are struggling academically with this kind of schedule. I believe that students do not have to go to school for 8 hours a day to be have succeeded. Other ’s think we should not have an 6 hour school day because kids would have more time to do after school things like coloring, playing, talking laughing, and many other things and also the school district will save money the percentage of students that day 89 percent should not have an 6 hour school day and 11 percent say yes. Most people have their opinions about different things address more they would do less work but have badder grades.
When happy, one becomes content in the current position, no longer feeling the need to persevere. When a student is happy while taking a test they will be content in not finishing, but after having a bad morning the student will try to finish the test and get the best grade. Anger and other negative emotions help fuel the need for selfimprovement. When happy there is a loss of perseverance because satisfaction is the only feeling. The University of Illinois studied and concluded that “too much happiness” can lead to negative effects and be “not such a good thing” (Begley 454).
However, the best available evidence is strongly positive about home-school student learning. The available evidence certainly seems to indicate otherwise. Harm to Public Education. Home schooling limits public school enrollments and therefore reduces the amounts of money state governments provide to local school districts. Which decreases the numbers of parents who are wanting to increase their children’s education (“Brookings”)
But they don’t see the difference. Giving students easy work makes the students feel like they are smart, but in reality, it is just the easy work being given to them. Student success an Anaheim schools can be changed by giving difficult work to students to allow them to learn. In Raising Smart Kids, Dweck states that “Giving students easy work makes them feel smart once being given hard work they give up on learning” (24). Teachers are giving students easy work to make them feel proud of their grade.
Often, a student is not given a chance to correct their grade or make up missing work. When grades are low, it is most likely because of a small error, work that isn’t turned in, or they forgot to answer a question. Adjusting retakes for all major grades would help lift grades and increase graduation rates in schools across America by a small amount.
