Today I’ll be addressing the argument between changing to a four-day school week from a five-day school week. In my own hoenest opinion I would rather change and have a four day school week. This is because I believe I do better in school when we have that extra day off. I am well rested and feel less stressed because I have more than enough time to get my work done. But I know that there are some cons to having a four day school week. People may argue that what will the parents of the younger children do for the day off. I tried to change this con into a positive and thought about how since the whole school gets the day off why don’t you ask and have a high schooler watch your children. But nun the less people still might argue about how it cost money. I know that this will be a problem for some families, but I believe we can come up with a solution.

At Georgia State University they conducted a study on a four-day school week versus a five-day school week. They compared fourth grade reading and fifth grade math. When they were done testing their findings showed improvements in math from the four-day week and reading stayed the same. Their study has shown that changing to a four-day school week doesn’t compromise students academic achievement.
