The commanders are taking advantage of these innocent children because the commanders know how easily influenced the children are. These commanders making the kids significantly less innocent. Another piece of evidence is "Children are often forced into fighting and have little choice over whether or not they enlist" (Child Soldiers Prosecution). They are usually forced into becoming a soldier, and don 't have much of a choose whether they enlist or not. It isn 't their fault that such terrible things around them.
First, child soldiers are the cause of the deaths of innocent human beings. The author of Child Soldiers states, “ … kill innocent civilians, other children, and even their own families.” ( ) Child soldiers had not only killed innocent civilians, they had also killed their own families. They did not even have the heart to try to something else about it. From the same article it says, “Over the course of the past decades, child soldiers have been responsible for some of the most brutal acts in
We have to consider all the aspects of the child soldier cases and not deal with them in a binary way. “The aim should not be punishment of child soldiers but rehabilitation. There are alternatives that achieve this aim better than prosecution.” (Child Soldiers, Prosecution, 11). All child soldier, irrespective of their guilt, need to be rehabilitated and reintegrated into society. Child soldiers should still be prosecuted, but without black-and-white thinking.
The piece of evidence states that the children don’t complain and do whatever the commander says. Though many people may see child soldiers as perpetrators, they deserve forgiveness because even though they obeyed their leaders, it is only because they have no idea what is going on. They are drugged, brainwashed, scared, and have many other emotions that probably plug their brains enough for them to just do what they are told instead of think. “Apply the concept of command responsibility to political and military leaders.”(Irin) We should instead be punishing the commanders and others who abducted them and terrorized these children. This is such and urgent topic that I urge you to think about the commanders who put these children up to such terrible crimes.
Many people think that these games will not have a major impact in a student or teens life that teens will be more prepared to face the real world an all its dangerous. But I say that yes these games might teach kids that the real world isn 't always that safe but I believe that these games show kids to be violent and reckless. To conclude this is why many parents and government officials believe that kids should not be allowed to play violent role playing games.By not letting kids play these games we can prevent more horrible and tragic shooting involving
It’s been well documented that these children have used guns and war tactics, and committed various illegal and illicit acts of violence. However, what they’ve done doesn 't come with the fact that child soldiers live with rugged conditions, drugs, the influence of others. Even though some people believe that child soldier’s shouldn’t be given amnesty, overall, it becomes clear that these children should be given amnesty because many adults influence their actions, they live in inferior conditions, and children who enlist as child soldiers enlist for multiple reasons other than violence. First, in many areas, it can be clearly seen that child soldiers are influenced by their superiors. No one is ever born dangerous, it’s always their parents and environment that shape a child into who they are.
Child soldiers, whether the Janissaries or the modern ones, were risking their lives for a cause they might not even believe in. One similarity that cannot be disputed is how in both cases, the children lost their innocence. One thing is letting children play violent video games, where they know that they’re not hurting real people, but it is another to give children real weaponry and have them aim and shoot at real humans, with real aspirations and real dreams. The psychological damage to their brains is unimaginable. They didn’t get to spend their childhoods playing soccer with friends, and instead spent those years without knowing that their lives might really end at any
In the arousing argument over child soldiers, the two sides have defined themselves as believing child soldiers to be victims of war or child soldiers to be perpetrators of war. It has been heavily debated whether these soldiers should be given amnesty, or whether they should be held accountable for their crimes. Though it is a valid claim to believe that child soldiers should be given no legal forgiveness, the belief that they should be given full amnesty is a much stronger claim, for they had no choice in the harm they might have inflicted upon others, many of them had been recruited by force, and the main focus should be on rehabilitation for child soldiers, not persecution. One of the first reasons why child soldiers should be granted
These juvenile offenders are treated like adults because they made adult decisions when instead they should be given attention and support to turn them into better people. A public defender says in a short documentary that, “We are seeing far too many young offenders entering the adult system who should be dealt with in the juvenile system”, and that a way some juvenile offenders are treated far worse than they deserve. Just because juveniles made bad decisions in their youth does not mean that they should be given a life sentence or put on death row, because they were just children who made some terrible mistakes. The people that think juveniles deserve the worst punishment they can get are probably don't understand that juveniles don’t really know what they are doing and it most likely isn’t always their own
According to Gettleman in “Armed & Underage” he states, “While the number of conflicts involving child soldiers has dropped since 2004 from 27 to 15, human-rights experts estimate that more than 200,000 children worldwide are still being used as combatants, usually against their will. And it isn't just boys: Girls are often pressed into duty as cooks or messengers. Many are subjected to sexual abuse, including rape.” Gettleman is saying that boys and girls that are in the army have to deal with struggles. This supports that war brings hardship to countries and their people because in this case, the children that are drafted in the army are dealing with hardship with being in the army. Also, according to Gettleman he states, “‘These kids can be so easily brainwashed," Ali says.
