Among the most controversial dilemmas broadly under debate is the Euthanasia and Patient Assisted Suicide (PAS) due to spreading of these practices even when laws are approved in limited states of United States and countries. The Euthanasia has always being part of our society since this word is derived from ancient Greek. The ancient Greek defined Euthanasia as the “well” or “good” death. The PAS is when a physician assist patient to commit suicide or facilitate death. It means that doctor and patient know and intentionally consent to give and receive a dose to end life mainly driven by a terminal and painful illness.
A controversial practice that invokes a debate over how beneficial its intentions are is the use of euthanasia. The argument switches between whether or not putting terminally ill patients to death with the assistance of a physician is justifiable and right. Legalizing the practice of euthanasia is a significant topic among many people in society, including doctors and nurses in the medical field, as it forces people to decide where to draw the line between relieving pain and simply killing. While some people see euthanasia as a way to helping a patient by eliminating their pain, it is completely rejected by others who see it as a method of killing. The word euthanasia is usually looked at with one of two completely different perspectives.
Euthanasia means “a good death” and “dying well”. A good death means dying with peaceful, painless, lucid and loved ones gathering around. Euthanasia defined as the termination of ill people’s life aim to reduce suffering from incurable and painful disease. Euthanasia classify into two major types, included passive and active. In passive euthanasia ill people dead by withholding of common treatment, such as antibiotics.
It turned out that it has two sides about the point of view towards the euthanasia issue in a positive and negative ways. Although some people against these ideas and claim that it is an unacceptable manner, I certainly disagree about that because it can be proved that the euthanasia is one of the most peaceful ways to escape the great pain for dying people. Euthanasia can be one of the way to relieve the pain and suffering for dying people. As everyone knows that people who have to struggle with the terminal illness always end up in physical and psychological suffering, so some of them wanted to die before the pain is getting worse. According to the news of the Telegraph in 2008 which reported about Val McKay, the British woman who was diagnosed with the multiple sclerosis.
Death is the thing that human must confront. Everyone knows that they cannot avoid death. It is impossible for us to know when, where, and how we will die, but we know that all of us will die someday. People die for various reasons such as natural death, diseases, and accidents, etc. Although it is miserable and sad regardless of the reason, there is one cause of death which is very controversial among people in modern society, and that is ‘suicide’ The definition of suicide is the intentional taking of one’s own life.
More medical resources would be spent on keeping that patient alive, than it would euthanize them. It is true that the patient can commit suicide on their own free will, but there can be complications with that. The patient could possibly be too weak to commit suicide, as well as if they committed suicide, another individual would find their body. Finding a dead body can be very detrimental to another human being and can cause them further complications including hurting their mental and emotional health. This could be very unhealthy for the person who finds the body of the suicide
It happen when a person is excessively regulated, when their futures are pitilessly blocked and passions violently choked by oppressive discipline. It occurs in overly oppressive societies, causing people to prefer to die than to carry on living within their society. A good example would be that some people prefer to die than live in a prison with constant abuse and excessive regulation that prohibits them from pursuing their desires. This type of suicide is due to overregulation in society In the current deteriorating state of this world where social media is also used and exacerbates to the glitches of suicidal intentions, this study is made to fully understand which among adults and teenagers need to be examined because of suicidal ideation. Moreover, research has shown that there are various predictors of suicide ideation.
Overall, all of these factors may lead to poorer doctor-patient relationship, not only can this compromise the quality of the healthcare system, but it can also cause patients to feel lost, and think that their only savior would be to suicide on their own (7) (5). Without the involvement of physicians, these attempts of suicide can most likely involve a tremendous amount of pain to the patient, and may cause more distress to the families as well, since this act of suicide can occur suddenly and in cruel
We live in a world that has opposing viewpoints on this subject; there are those who view it as homicide, and others who view it as the most sincere form of human compassion. So I implore you, not to look at euthanasia as a choice between life and death, but a choice between peace and misery. Dying is not a
Known types of this assistive suicide are collectively called active and passive euthanasia. Active euthanasia is explicitly taking measures to end somebody 's life, whilst restraining treatment to end a someone 's life is known as passive euthanasia. For example, active euthanasia is when a lethal drug is given to end someone 's life, and passive euthanasia would be when all types of treatments are stopped because none of them have any positive effect. In this era the field of medicine has advanced to a greater magnitude, however, some terminal illnesses still have no cure. It 's conditions like these which I believe allow euthanasia, also widely known as 'mercy killing ', to act as a means of painlessly letting someone go.
