I’m against gun control because I like shooting guns. I wish gun owners weren 't limited to their selection. Because there is a law called 2nd amendment that says that you have the right to bear arms. There are a lot of people that live in america and are scared of guns and don 't like it, I think part of the reason is because the image people bring to when thought of guns, protection and hunting should be the only reason why a gun should be fired. In the United States of America, there is something called second amendment , it gives you the right to own a gun and protect and arm yourself if things went south they would have a chance.
Concealed Handguns Most homicides are committed by guns. Handguns are used more than any other gun in crimes and over 73,000 people are treated for non-fatal wounds every year. Although each state varies in what is needed to be able to carry a concealed handgun it is a fairly simple progress as long as a background check comes back good, with no history of crime or use of addictive drugs. Being able to carry enables people to do things they wouldn’t even think of doing if they didn’t have a gun with them at all times.
One article online states that gun related violence accounts for about 30,000 to 40,000 deaths every year in America. More than half of these deaths occur due to self infliction (Keidan 48). This makes it obvious that there should be a certain amount of gun laws in place to stop people from hurting each other. However, people commonly have to use guns for self defense. One such example of this happened when four masked men went into a smoke shop.

About half the community killed in a deadly mass shooting in this dome. As we stand here in this ceremony joined by victims and community with points of light shining in the darkness.
At this time, everybody may recognize the deadliest tragedy in the world happened on October 1st, 2017. It was Las Vegas mass shooting, a killing of more than 50 people and hurting more than 500 victims; however, it is not the first mass shooting in the USA. Owning a gun and having a stress are the reasons of the events. By the way, the means for preventing the shooting tragedies is supporting harder legal gun possession and decreasing competitive
The U.S alone has 35% to 50% of the world 's civilian owned Firearms(Time 2013. Pg 14, 15). Most likely you have at least one or know someone that keeps a gun in their house. Because of mass shootings we hear about in the news such as, the theater shooting in Aurora Co. in 2012 and Columbine massacre in 1999, the most recent that took place in Hesston at Excel industries. There is a problem with gun related violence in the U.S. but there is a perception that it has suddenly worsened, in reality things have been in bad for a while.

Within four years, gun ownership in America exploded by 60.8% between the years of 2007 and 2011. Gun ownership has been on the rise, and gun crimes have been declining. Yet, some still think gun control should be stricter. It is safer without gun control in the United States.
Now, onto my speech II. Main Body I believe that guns are not weapons, but are tools. I read something on www.topics-mag.com, and it compared Prohibition to selling and owning guns. I believe that this can be used because it compares using and selling alcohol because it was illegal during the time.
Gun control laws should keep guns from going into the wrong hands. However, the United States should not ban guns completely because its ones right to own one. Americans have a tendency to think that owning a gun is a necessary because American society has embedded guns to be part of our culture. Media makes it seem that we must own a gun for our safety. Guns are always displayed on television shows, movies, and video games where masses of people or “monsters” are killed.
It takes a second to stop and help someone, and a second to pass by. In today's world, we've seemingly forgotten the mere fact that we are all the same; we are all human. A speech is the best text type for this topic because it allows to to connect with an audience when presenting my ideas to a public directly. I can engage with an audience, appealing to their emotions and logic to persuade them into action towards gun control laws.
