For teens, they receive the option of seeking help from a therapist or obtain counsel from a trustworthy person. For elderly people, they receive support from therapy as well as someone they trust, and from the specialist in the hospital. Even Universities and Colleges provide programs for people who are thinking of suicide and helping them out for a change of mind. The best support is not insulting the person who wants to commit suicide to not make it worst for example, “The steps of helping out on the case of Emotional Pain is ask questions, keep them safe and become the best example to them and be there meaning listen carefully to their situation”(National Institute of Mental Health). “A sense of hope and something to live for is what teens need. They also need a way to raise their self-esteem. When they look at this world and see it through a hopeless window, there is nothing that will make them want to stay in it,” said Dan Snarr, a Skyline High science teacher. Suicide among teens is a recurring issue in today's world. In most cases, suicide is a result of how lonely the victim may feel since they may not fully receive the love and care they deserve. Hence, it is important that professional caretakers reach out to them since they may feel too embarrassed of their negative thoughts. Directly connecting to this idea, most times family members and friends are not too sure about how to address this with the victim since they do not really know how to help.
As of 2015, 5 in 100,000 girls and 14 in 100,000 teenagers commit suicide (Lewis). Teenagers are becoming more vulnerable and schools seem to be taking no notice. If these lives could be saved, it would help so many families across the united states. The National Institute of Mental Health states that there “are as many as 25 attempts of suicide to every one that is actually committed” (Eco Child’s Play). Suicides can be prevented by treatment of the illness.
Intro: Sometimes in life we are given a choice. Some make us happy, some we regret , and others are the most difficult decisions we will ever have to make. We all live our lives fully aware that at some point we will end up dying just like everybody else in the world no matter how much we avoid addressing the fact. You wake up everyday with the routine you have created for yourself, until you hit an unexpected bump. You have six months to live.
“Death with dignity is a human right: to retain control until the very end and, if the quality of your life is too poor, to decide to end your suffering; the dignity comes from exercising the choice.” says Jason Barber, whose wife, Kathleen Barber, died in his arms. He had one question in mind when she died. What was he going to say if someone asked him how she died? Whether she went peacefully? He decided to tell people that his wife died in peace, without any pain or suffering.
We need to be aware of the consequences we are making not only to ourselves but to other people like our friends or family. There’s many opportunities in the world to still live by and there’s local services and programs to help out the teens, adults and even elderly people from suicide prevention. Life is tough and I know we all go to ups and downs, but we need to agree that suicide isn’t the answer to ending our lives and we need to change it. Young and elderly people commit suicide for different reasons and need different treatments.
There are 175 countries in the world right now (Countries). The United States is ranked 48th in suicides. An alarming total of 44,193 people commits suicide here, each year (List). If people have the right to live, then do they have the right to die? Is it okay to end someone’s life in order to end his/her pain and suffering? These are two of the biggest questions nowadays and I am here to take my stand on this issue. People are easily confused with this due to the fact that on one hand, we know that it is wrong to take a person’s life. On the other hand, it is difficult to see them suffering and in pain for a longer period of time.
What is suicide? It’s an act to end your own life. According to the American foundation for suicide, over 44,000 people try to commit suicide each year in the United states. Did you know that in 2015, suicide was the second leading causes of death in people 15 to 34 years of age. People can commit suicide by cutting their wrists, gun shot, jumping from heights or hang themselves.

Teenagers sometimes had a period of depressing. They are usually stressed over something, such as some of them witnessing the pressure that was coming from all around their surroundings.
