Anyone could read this book to improve cultural competency skills and to gain ideas to make long-lasting changes in women 's lives. All disciplines could benefit from his book, including social work. The National Association of Social Worker’s (NASW) Ethical Values: the dignity and worth of a person and social justice- are addressed and promoted throughout the book (2015). Along with the NASW Code of Ethics are the perspectives and theories that have been adopted by the social work discipline that surface in this book.

It will clarify and explain the advantages as well as disadvantages for a company having employees of different cultural backgrounds. Likewise, it will also explain significance of dealing with different cultures, influence of culture over the workers and style of management. Similarly, it will also discuss significance of cultural training and cultural diversity implications in managing an organization. In the present time, workers with different cultures in an organization have become the fact which cannot be ignored.
As educators we have to be familiar with this in order to create equal education opportunities for everyone. While multiculturalism is valid everywhere, multicultural education beings in schools, which ultimately reflect the community and society as well. To simplify multicultural education, Banks split it into five dimensions, which are Content Integration, Knowledge Construction, Equity Pedagogy, Prejudice Reduction, and Empowering School Culture and Social Structure. All these dimensions combine to create a more harmonious society (Banks & Banks, 1997). The overall goal of multiculturalism and multicultural education is to create educational opportunities for students from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds while encouraging students from those diverse groups to create a respectful and civil community that works for everyone.

The first assessment that we took was about my attitude toward workplace diversity. After completing this assessment, I learned that I am a diversity realist. My attitude of workplace diversity is straight forward. I accept the situation as it is and attempt to deal with issues as the transpire. Within the workplace, I understand that behavior is dictated by team building, collaboration, unity, support, and ethics; however, I am also aware of the negative such as rivalries, and unfair treatment.

“In a multi-cultural, diverse society there are countless ways in which people negotiate the everyday lived experience and reality of diversity” (Abdel-Fattah,N.D) We had learned in the organizational behavior class that diversity, job satisfaction and the personal motives that the members obtains for being part of an organization helps to build character traits. First, I will explain why having diversity in any organization and in the military is vital of importance. Then, why leaders in the organization are responsible for job satisfaction. At last, why money is not the primary motivator of the work force today. I definitely agree why is necessary to have diversity in any organization to include the military.

To communicate successfully, teachers must know how to structure their own language output for maximum clarity and have strategies for understanding what students are saying. Teachers in multicultural classrooms must be open to their students and put forth the effort needed to get to know their students both inside and outside of class.
