Thank you, everyone, for joining me here today. I am here to talk about an issue that is important to me and many others, and I believe it needs to be discussed. This is about the rights of small business owners and mom and pop shops. This has been a heated issue for years now, and it needs to be settled in a way that benefits both the business owner and the customer. Many people think small business owners should not be able to turn away any customers; even if they do not support the customer and their actions or have a belief that conflicts the customer. I am here with the other 57% of Tennessee residents to say that it should be a choice for the small business owners to give or to refuse service to their customers (Religious). It is not …show more content…
This will result in less opened businesses and less diverse businesses. In America diversity is cheered upon, but if people are not given a choice that is taking away something that is a big part of America. Business owners will be afraid to even try and start a business, because it will either be denied because of their views or once they are open they will be shut down or laughed upon because of their views. When the economy has a less diverse market, many consumers may not be satisfied with what they can buy. If that happens the economy will start falling. Having a diverse market is important for the economy, and when small business owners are attacked for their views they stop operating. Also, these small business owners are Mom and Pop shops a lot of the times, which keep the community alive. You take away small business and you ruin the community.
Now, in closing, I want to thank you again for listening to me about this important issue on this day. Everyone should have the right to choose how they want to operate their small businesses. Many businesses are struggling with this issue and they need their community’s support. I hope you have gained new knowledge about what has been spoken today. Most of all, I hope this gathering has benefited you in multiple
Big business take over small businesses, which is bad. In the short story, “McJobs” by Eric Schlosser it talks about how small businesses aren't being heard so they don't have enough money so they close down. In the first place, small businesses don't exist anymore. There are family run stores that close down .
I believe that if something inside of your own business interferes with your faith that you should have the right to change and amend that to your specifications. In Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby, the Green family felt as if their religious freedoms had been violated and took the necessary measures to try to regain them. If I were in the situation, I probably would have done the same thing as this
Another concern I have as a business owner are unfair rules and regulations that restrict small business from succeeding and competing fairly against larger corporations. Lastly regulations that set limits on how businesses treat and handle their employees. If people agree to sell their labor then what are the set standards so that people aren’t taken advantage
It was stated by Charles Evans Hughes in a court case (Document F) that “[the] authority of the federal government may not be pushed to such as extreme.” This court case was in context of the government’s control over the poultry industry and he believed that the expansion in power, and specifically on businesses, was too much. Yet another example of businesses being put down is given by John L. Lewis in a NBC radio broadcast (Document G) where he talked about how business leaders “have no right” to not listen to union employees and cooperate with them. While corporate-union relationships ought to exist and facilitate workers with fair pay and conditions, it is also important especially during this time of hardship for businesses to be able to thrive so that the economy can be revived. Along with the control that they have, the government isn’t helping businesses either by giving them the backhand for not complying with the demands of unions; they are hindering businesses from growing.

Please detail the types of prospective clients you believe will allow you to build your business to fulfill your vision. I plan on reaching out to young working professionals who have recently entered the workforce, using my network connections within the hospitality industry to find those who need financial guidance. I also plan to reach out to the rural communities, such as farmers and small businesses, to give opportunities for investment and growth.
In many instances, the accomplishments of our business pioneers required the same dedication and determination that was required to march or boycott unfair treatment. What fueled these business titans? They all had one thing in common. They had big dreams.
It could prove to be positive to some and negative to others but indeed cause a racial divide that could impact the way organizations interact and

Whether you like guns or you hate them, you must understand that the ownership of firearms is a right; A RIGHT…NOT a privilege. You must understand that America is a republic, NOT a democracy. That means that our rights cannot be changed or ended by a vote. ““The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms.” – Samuel Adams” It is your right (as protected by the first amendment) to oppose the 2nd amendment.
Plato’s Diner is a family owned and operate business. The owners, Dean and Chris Papas are Greek immigrants and they believed if they worked hard and spend their money wisely they will become successful businessmen. Contrary to their beliefs the case highlights several issues at Plato’s Diner. These challenges derive from lack of strategic planning, management operation, human resources management, marketing strategy and non-compliance of labor laws, and taxes regulations. These challenges pose legal ramifications for their business.
