I did the design wrt type of pump (diesel/ electrical) and made a cost analysis for the client’s approval. On receiving the approval I proceeded with the construction. During the design I concluded important parameters of the Well point dewatering system like Which Capacity of pump to be used at which stage, intervals at which risers to be placed for suctions, header layout, dimension of HDPE pipes; and others. We laid the well point dewatering system as shown the graphical image below. We had to run the two pumps for 48 hrs continuously to reduce the ground water table around Wagon trippler excavated area.
The water was collected from these two locations and was used for curing and other construction works. Within 72 hours we could achieve the desired dried surface, which was ideal for PCC works. Parallel arrangements were made to complete the PCC works by which we could solve the seepage issue on time. Our client appreciated my work and enthusiasm towards solving the dewatering problem. The vertical wellpoints were equally spaced around the excavated area at equal intervals by drilling from the earth’s surface. Swing joints are connected to the wellpoints
