The structure of a classroom can be just as important as the lesson’s itself. The way that a classroom is set up can help involve the children in learning, by creating a safe, creative, and inclusive environment. I believe that the classroom should reflect on who you are as a teacher and your teaching strategies as well as the students. My teaching process beliefs are that students should work together and collaborate as a whole. Thus, I would arrange my desks in a “U” shape facing the board. This allows for every student to visually see the front as well as every student in the class. In addition, as a teacher I will be able to engage with every student more easily in this desk arrangement. As well, my classes decor would represent both my students and myself. …show more content…

For example, I would have information of the current science unit on posters and all the art projects the students did yesterday hanging on the bulletin board. I would like to engage my students in both the traditional literacy of reading and writing as well as a more modern literacy of technology. I would have an area setup for reading and writing, where students can learn independently or collaboratively. In addition, I will have an area designated to technology to enable students to extend their knowledge and gain new critical skills. Resources will be available within the class, and ideally I would like to have enough resources for every child in the classroom. As a teacher, I believe it is my job to engage the kids to learn and create student centred activities that expand their knowledge. For students, it is their job to be interactive in learning and become creative and critical thinkers. I believe that both the students and the teacher should be involved in the classroom set up and
