• Orchard Road is the excitement and retail center of Singapore. It is a tremendous vacation destination and it is the most prominent shopping enclave in the city. It has a far-reaching underground foundation, which incorporates underground walker walkways between the shopping centers running underneath the road and different boulevards in the region.

There are taxi stands at Forum The Shopping Mall, all hotels, Lucky Plaza, Wisma Atria, Ngee Ann City, The Paragon, The Heeren Shops, Centrepoint Shopping Centre and Plaza Singapura.

• When pedestrians are present at the side of a zebra crossing, all motorists are obligated to give priority to pedestrians crossing the zebra crossing bars, by stopping before the white line across the lane. No waiting is permitted within the vicinity of the zebra crossing.A sign indicating a pedestrian crossing or a 'SLOW ' painted on the road may be present as well.

Symbols And Signs

• In Singapore, drive on the left side of the road.
• You must be at least 17 to qualify for a car-drivinglicense.
• The speed limit is 50 km/h on roads and 70-80 km/h on expressways.
• Do not drink and drive. The legal Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limit is 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
• Seat belts and child seats are mandatory.
• Headlights must be turned on between 7 pm and 7 am.

Common markings across the road
• Parallel white lines: Traffic approaching the lines to give way to oncoming traffic on major road
• Single white line: Traffic required to stop close to and before this line.
• Parallel yellow lines: Pedestrian
