ORCHARD ROAD
• Orchard Road is the excitement and retail center of Singapore. It is a tremendous vacation destination and it is the most prominent shopping enclave in the city. It has a far-reaching underground foundation, which incorporates underground walker walkways between the shopping centers running underneath the road and different boulevards in the region.
• Spanning just about 2.2km, Orchard Road is a swanky, one-way road flanked by notorious and unmistakable shopping centers, restaurants and inns. The shopping belt offers almost 800,000 sq. m of retail, feasting

Associations like MADD speak about how the higher MLDA has made the roads safer, but they refuse to admit that it is not the only reason. Before the raising of the MLDA there was a statistic recorded, “Rate of accident and fatalities in the 1980’s decreased less than that of European countries whose legal drinking ages are lower than 21,”( “Drinking Age”). Previously, before the MLDA was raised, traffic incidents relating to alcohol were very scarce; America was a safe place to drive. One factor often forgotten is that, some people are irresponsible and develop bad habits. Therefore someone will always fail to abide by the rules.
“It 's unfortunate that he 's made these poor decisions,” she said, adding, “Somehow, he 's been very lucky he hasn 't hurt himself or someone else. “You hope somebody learns, through the court process, not to make these mistakes. I 'm not sure what it will take for Mr. Mitten not to make these mistakes,” she said. Enforcing the state 's drunken driving laws, which prohibit driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 and above, is a priority for the state patrol, said Norman. “It 's one of those things that can easily be stopped.
The policy on drunk driving has been a controversial topic for decades, whether it is to deter or punish drunk drivers. Current public policy on drinking and driving includes the blood alcohol content (BAC) standard. The BAC measures the alcohol concentration present in a person’s bloodstream. The level of alcohol concentration often serves as an indicator of how intoxicated an individual is. It is the most accurate form of alcohol impairment measurement currently exists.
In health care today, there are many different cultures found in our patient population. Patients often have difficulty conforming to medical regimens due to their cultural beliefs and practices. Completing a comprehensive cultural assessment is the key to understanding the specific components of their culture to facilitate effective and efficient nursing care. In this paper I will describe the key components of a comprehensive cultural assessment. Two of the components will be discussed in relation to the Afghan culture and how that impacts providing culturally diverse care.
Traffic crash rates have been inversely related with the minimum legal drinking age since the 1970’s. Studies conducted since the 1980’s analyzed how the change in the MLDA affected the outcome of total traffic crashes for youth, drinking-driving convictions, single-vehicle nighttime crash fatalities, and alcohol problems among youth. The MLDA needs to be at 21, because 67% of the studies completed have concluded that there was a significant decrease in traffic crashes and crash fatalities when the drinking age was higher. In addition, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimated that in 1987 alone, 1,071 traffic crashes were prevented because of the MLDA of 21 (NHTSA 1989). Lower rates of death caused by vehicle crashes were found in states with higher MLDA’s throughout these various studies, and a 16% decrease in vandalism rates were observed in 4 states that raised their MLDA.
Native Americans Native Americans are very different from other tribes. They eat, live, dress and do many things differently. The things I’m going to be talking about in my interesting paper is What they eat? What they wear? Where they live?
Drunk driving seems to be a black spot of our civilization. An average of 17,000 individuals die each year in drunk driving related accidents, and drunk driving continues to be an enormously important public safety issue (MADD). With lowering this drinking age we can only expect more cases of drunk driving and more lives are put in danger. The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration estimates that about 900 lives are saved annually due to fewer alcohol-related traffic crashes involving underage drivers. Surely, it should be a priority for the society to minimize the death toll from drunk driving.
This documentation is beneficial to our source because it shows the severity of the consequences of drinking irresponsibly. It provides numerous police data that gives information on aspects affiliated with police indication of involvement with alcohol of injured drivers. With this information, we can depict the seriousness of drinking. The source also provides numerous statistics that will definitely get people’s attention, such as, “Police recognize and document alcohol involvement in 72 percent of injured drivers
Cultural Immersion: Muslim Americans Part 2 Many Muslim families are labelled, judged, and in some cases feared by the American people. Many major cities have mosques, and it is important to acknowledge the presence and value this individuals have in our society. In effort to achieve a better understanding of the faith itself and the lifestyle of those that follow the faith, I visited a worship service and a community event held at one of the mosques in Iowa. In some ways this experience felt very foreign, yet in many ways it felt very comfortable.
However, “90% of drunk driving deaths in the United States were found in the over 21 age group” (Gruenewald). For this reason, drunk driving is not directly correlated with the drinking age. In addition, the percent of drunk driving deaths in the United States has reduced at a slower rate than European countries where they have their legal drinking age at eighteen. This suggest that if lowering the drinking age was a success in Europe, it may also be effective here in the United States to diminish the amount of drunk driving deaths. This is because people that become injured due to alcohol or alcohol poisoning are afraid to report their injuries to the hospital or authorities out of fear of illegal consequences for underage drinking.
Despite the strict sanctions placed to curb it, drunk driving continues to be an unwavering predicament in most states. The number of offenders taken to custody by the police is rising by the day; with matters being made worse by the escalating number of underage drinkers. Many solutions have been put forth in an effort to reduce drunk driving and consequently reduce the number of road carnages. The persistence of the problem however calls for improved solutions. This paper forms a discussion on drunk driving and current prevention strategies; and proposes solutions to the unrelenting problem.
Kira Johnson Eng 111-11:00 Ms. Booms December 9, 2016 Drunk Driving: Proposal The solution to resolving drunk driving is to crack down on laws already set in place and monitor repeat offenders. Drunk driving is defined as the crime of driving a vehicle with excess of alcohol is in the blood. In the current it means getting behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated and no reprimands are given just a slap of the wrist and a fine. In 2012 Kirk Camacho lost his youngest daughter to a drunk driver with a blood alcohol level well over the legal limit.
Drunk driving is a serious problem that continues to take thousands of deaths each year. Too many innocent lives been lost to drunk driving. A death from drunk driving does not only affect the victim but it affects everyone around them such as family and friends. One night, one drink, one mistake is all it takes for drunk driving to take its toll. There are many solutions to prevent drunk driving, but they will only work if we put them into play.
Drunk Driving : Don 't Become A Statistic Drunk driving is the act of operating or driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs to the degree that mental and motor skills of the driver are impaired. Driving Under the Influence (DUI), also known as Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) is illegal and is considered as a serious crime in many countries. However the Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) limit for arresting a person may vary in different countries. A study stated that almost thirty two percent of the fatal car accidents involve a person driving under influence or an intoxicated pedestrian.
In my opinion, I believe driving checkmarks should be place all across the globe to check for impaired drivers and to get them off the road until it is say to drive again. The reason I believe that this should be taken in effect is because this is a great way to reduce the amount of casualties that comes with drunk driving. These checkmarks should consist of rooms, bathrooms, and sobriety test only to help reduce the amount of deaths that goes along with alcohol. In my opinion, these simple changes can save millions of lives and will help everyone survive if they decide to drink and drive, even though they aren’t supposed to. Alcohol itself is a drug that tricks the brain into thinking that everything is okay when everything isn’t
