Some critics would say that basketball would be very irrelevant. Then you will have to hear about the people that will disagree, saying that it’s interesting and a form of art; by the dribbling, passing, dunking, laying it up, and the passing. In hours of playing or practicing basketball, you begin to form a kinesthetic and remember the amount of force to put on the ball to make it go in; and you remember how to keep your same jump shot. While the rules of basketball have changed a lot over the past 70 years, certain decades brought about more changes to the sport. During the 1960s, there was only one rule changed in NBA and one rule changed in college basketball. There was a good chunk of rules changed in the 1950s. One of the main changes that happened was that in 1964 the court widened from 12 to 18 feet which is a major change to the court style (Irvine). Also, from 1967 to 1977 a rule for dunking was enacted in college basketball to prevent injuries and harm on the court, but it was released later (“Basketball Basics Evolution of the Game”).

Physics was observed during a DHS girls lacrosse game by Newton’s Laws and in free-fall. Newton’s Laws consist of 3 different laws, the law of inertia, F=ma, and action-reaction forces. Free-fall was observed in the game when the lacrosse ball falls, and only gravity acts upon it. All in all, Newton’s Laws and free-fall was portrayed during the lacrosse game.
