I am writing this letter on behalf of Quentin Goodman, an incoming high school senior who is looking to volunteer at NYU Langone Medical Center, Center for Musculoskeletal Care (CMC), Physical Therapy Department located on 333 East 38th Street, New York, NY 10016. NYU CMC Physical Therapy Supervisor, Dr. James Koo is a professional and personal friend of mine and he gave Quentin your contact information and a tour of the clinic. The reason Quentin wants to become a physical therapist is because his sister, Camille, has had several surgeries when she was younger. He was able to have a first-hand look at how much a physical therapist could impact someone’s life. Camille had to undergo yet another surgery in the summer of 2016, and Quentin was again able to see how different her life would have been without the help of physical therapy.

THE Care Act 2014 is a piece of UK legislation that addresses the social and medical needs of adults in England. In order to guarantee that care services are of the highest calibre, secure, and satisfy the needs of persons, it explains the duties of local authorities and health and care providers .An example of the Care Act 2014 in for people who require care and support, "personal budgets" are currently being used. By letting people choose how their needs will be met, personal budgets provide people more control and flexibility over the care and support that they receive (Act-2014).
E2 Key Factors which Impact the Work Practice Organisation Prepared by Margaret Mills For Work Practice QQI level 5 Assignment Evaluate the impact of globalisation, and new technology and science on the Work Practice organisation St Mary’s hospital is not a global organisation it is a local statuary organisation. It is government funded and run by the Health Service Executive. There are a number of nursing homes in Europe one which I looked at was as follows; Dutch students can live in nursing homes rent-free (as long as they keep the residents company. Ninety two year old Johanna beams at the twenty year-old stepping into her room. Not a visiting grandson, but rather a housemate at her retirement home.
It is a job that will always be needed, there will always be people that need help regaining their physical health to be able to walk again or maybe just be able to move their thumb again. Physical therapists have to run tests when a patient comes to the office. This is to make sure where and what about the type of injury. After the patients’ assessment, the physical therapist will setup a patient treatment plan in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician. Create PT treatment plans to improve or restore a patient’s mobility and reduce pain.
Throughout the semester, I have gained a better understanding of adapted physical education and sport programs. These programs provide children and adults with an opportunity to participate in sports they may not have thought were possible. The modifications to sport and exercise allows individuals with a range of disabilities to engage in activity. The disabilities can range from a mild learning disability to a permanent condition caused from a serious accident. While observing numerous individuals with disabilities, I was able to obtain a better understanding of the challenges that came with physical activity.

In a world full of athletes a Physical therapist is a very viable asset to any athlete’s road to fame, because they provide support to the player, keep them healthy and in shape, and prepares them to get back on the field. As a Sports therapist you will work with athletes and exercise participants in order to help prevent, recognise, manage injuries and treat them if they should occur, and then rehabilitate the patient back to full fitness. Using the principles of exercise science, they incorporate physiological and pathological processes to make sure patients are training and competing safely and provide an immediate response when athletic related injuries occur. Work can be found in sports injury clinics or directly with a sports club or even as a personal therapist for an athlete, either professional or amateur.
Physical Therapy Physical Therapists provide rehabilitation for injuries and help maintain stability. “Some history of Physical Therapist formed their first professional association in 1921 called the American Women’s physical therapeutic association. In the late 1940s, the association had changed its name to the American Physical Therapy Association. Physical Therapy was developed when the association’s membership swelled to 8,000 and the number of physical therapy education programs across the US increased from 16 to 39”(“APTA History”). Although many people may think being a physical therapist is hard because of the qualifications needed, the daily work, salary, and needs of the service have drawn my attention to the field.
By 2026 physical therapy jobs are said to be increased by 25% (“10 Interesting Physical Therapy Facts & Statistics,” 28 Dec. 2017).
